Someone just posted this comment on the Eagles board and just reading it made me feel a little creeped out.

No more best 22. Best 21. It doesnt sound right to me. A whole new definition is given to such a key part of the game all of a sudden. Feels well dumb

To me its still the best 22, its not the clubs fault they have to play with an active 21. Forced into putting one of your best 22 on the bench for a game.

Take it bvack a few generations and our forbears would have been freaked out by the 19th man or the use of rotating substations after that.

I get the concept of leave the game alone but the numbers on the bench have changed before, stop thinking as yourself as the game has always had 22, in fact for the vast part of it's history it has not.

With this new sub rule how will it affect "games played" for example Heath Scotland is set to play game 200 tomorrow night. If he was named as a sub but was not activated does that mean he is still on 199 or does it count as a game even though he didn't actually go on the field
