WE need to appeal our sanctions

I don't mind them having their draft picks.... picks 106, 107, 108, 109.

To be fair they will need to have some "talent" after bans start to roll in next year.

Goddard, Zaha and Daniher will need some help to fill 22 positions.

And if they don't?

Once again, we are getting bent over because we are ran by an idiot.

So pretty much the same sort if penalties as we received?

Hird 12 months suspension (down to 6 I bet) meaning he won't miss a game.
A fine - some rich prick will pay it.
Loss of premiership points. Big deal, they will get smashed in round 1 anyway.
2 years draft picks - same as us.

So what they have done is equal to what we have done.

That's ****ed.

And to anyone who wants to start going down the path of penalties handed down to Trigg, where are Essendon's CEO and President that were there at the start of the year.

Now, if Essendon don't get draft pick penalties that's when I'll get fired up.

Trigg only got 12 down to 6 because he was a nice boy and bent over when asked. Was probably the reason we kept him too. I couldn't see us keeping him after 12 months away (but then, you know what, we probably would).

Hird will likely get the full 12 because he's been a prick about it all.

Still a ****ing soft penalty that's a complete an utter joke. Players better get banned.

Trigg gets twelve months with six months suspended for shoddy paperwork for one player, Hird systematically dopes his entire team with prohibited substances and gets six months? ******* disgrace if true.

Jeni pls.

Show me where Essendon has been charged with doping, systematic or otherwise.

We, on the other hand, cheated.

Add to that player bans. I think that is not bad. The only thing I would like to see is Hird run out of the sport, Reid to retire, Corcoran and bomber 12 month bans.

If this is true and the Bombers are not stripped of any draft picks, Steven Trigg and Rob Chapman MUST call a press conference and publicly ask the AFL for an explanation and then demand our penalty be reduced.

However because they are a bunch of incompetent soft cocked bitches, they won't do a ******* them and just accept it.
Trigg and Chapman couldn't give a rats about the draft picks. Aami stadium will be full again on the weekend so who cares about minor distractions like winning premierships...."they're like coke"

No Essendon players will be banned.

Not going to happen.

Essendon players absolutely will receive infractions. Strict liability says that is the only possible outcome. The sanctions players receive may, however, be mitigated by circumstances. ASADA and WADA are very keen to make this stick.

I think its easy to overlook the two most important outcomes for the AFC which came out of our negotiated setlement. Firstly, Trigg's job is safe. Secondly, Chapman's job is safe. Breathe easy lads.

They have no evidence. They have no failed blood tests, no A samples and will not find anything with a B sample.

ASADA and WADA want things to stick, I don't have any problem with that and personally hope they can but if they could, they would have by now.

They can lay charges against a player within 24 hours of the urine sample getting taken. Then it's a few days for the B sample.

They have no hard hitting evidence to charge the players or they would have by now, just as they dud with Saad at st kilda.

They can be overturned FF it's true - however that's where a penalty has been imposed and is outside an acceptable range. Now I stand corrected but my understanding is our penalty was negotiated and was effectively by consent of both parties. As long as it was within an acceptable range and we weren't coerced ( very hard to prove given our QC's ) then it's the end of the matter.

Thanks. Got it. :)

I disagree. This is not a court of law, the burden of proof and level of evidence required is different. It is not beyond reasonable doubt. There is very strong circumstantial evidence that 11 players were injected with thymosin beta 4 which is banned. The players signed consent forms with thymosin listed on it. Charter supplied dank with TB4, and gave him suggested dosage regime, this appeared on the player consent forms. The Club paid for the drug. ASADA have evidence of dank and his compounding chemist trying to backdate an invoice and change the contents. 34 players were injected with an unknown substance from Mexico in a hyperbaric chamber by a chiropractor! There was also a large group that received AOD9604 - which WADA have clarified three times now is prohibited under category S0. I believe there will be infractions issued.

Jenny, they (WADA) found the actual drugs and injections in Lance Armstrong hotel room and still could not charge him. They also found it in Jobie Daker (RIP) car and bin and coud not charge him.

They will not charge them, they will want to but won't as they can not make anything stick.

Hearing this shit at half time??? Talking no draft picks lost cos that "would be like a 10 year penalty" so its much more "palatable" for Essendon to lose points. No shit their season is in the toilet. Losing points does absolutely Sweet. ****. All to them.

So we get a 10 year penalty for a dodgy contract we didn't actually benefit from and they get nothing for risking the physical wellbeing of 40 young men? I'm out of this shit league with my money if that flies

Just mentioned on the TV, no draft pick losses, just points in a now lost season, fines and suspended coaches.

****ing disgrace IMO if this pans out. I'm just about done with the AFL.

They have already given Melbourne back their fine with 300% interest and now if we end up worse off than Essendon after what theyve done, I'm done with AFL football.

****ing joke!!

Were their non approved drugs listed on those consent forms signed by the players? If so, even if they didn't take the drugs surely that's worse than us and Kurt also having signed a contract that agrees to breaking rules. Kurt got 6 Months for agreeing to something that didn't happen.
