WE need to appeal our sanctions

AFL don't get a choice. ASADA issue the infractions and recommend the penalty. If AFL fall short of that recommendation, either ASADA OR WADA can appeal. AFL signed up to the WADA code.

I'd love for you to be right but I'll bet on here that it won't happen....how much money you want to put up??? $1000?

So pretty much the same sort if penalties as we received?

Hird 12 months suspension (down to 6 I bet) meaning he won't miss a game.
A fine - some rich prick will pay it.
Loss of premiership points. Big deal, they will get smashed in round 1 anyway.
2 years draft picks - same as us.

So what they have done is equal to what we have done.

That's ******.

I agree that if Essendon get a light penalty that the AFC should LOUDLY protest to AFL house. Very Loudly.

This is pretty serious - in fact, I'm pretty certain the AFL will be receiving a stern letter from Triggy

yeah a stern letter with little kisses at the bottom asking "btw, how are the wife and kids we really should catch up for a latte mate"

The AFL will lost too much face and credibility if they were to change their mind about our penalty...nothing but court action will change our fate now and the AFC are a complete bunch submissives (basically they'd be everyones bitch in prison)

I didn't call you a moron. If I offended you I apologise. I'm just saying that I think your viewpoint on this is very very wrong.

Apology accepted. And I guess we'll have to wait and see. I'm expecting nothing to happen until ASADA finishes up with Cronulla players. Then all evidence will be poured over by their legal team before notifying the ADVR Panel and individual players. Long way to go before it's all over.

That's contradicting what was on tv just a few minutes ago

As I just said, she said something like "in contrast to what other parts of the media are saying, it's pretty certain Essendon will receive draft sanctions"..

Don't believe every bit of (mis)information in areas of the media.. Too many trying to get in first or bignote themselves or push an agenda.. How many have been and are totally wrong, very often.. This has flip-flopped so many times from Essendon won't be touched, to the club won't survive after the smashing they will get.. We were apparently in trouble for organising Joel Tippett to move here, not for trade clauses ;)

Caro is nearly always on the money, hell she had the info on the Tippett clause not long into the year after he signed.. Then it disappeared, until the time he ran out of contract.. She didn't get too much credit for that because most forgot that she said it way back then..

If the Bombers don't get a much harsher penalty than we did then yes, I expect our club to making some noise and requesting a review.

However, at the same time i'm pretty darn pleased Trigg (and Harper) treated the AFL's authority and judicial process with the respect it deserves rather than carrying on like a self entitled whingeing 10 year old hoping to bring the whole league crashing down rather than manning up and taking the punishment.

Yeah nah

you'd make a perfect board member for the crows....you can help oversee another ten years of mediocrity and losing

you'd rather the whole league looking on in disgust at our behaviour, 17 other clubs basically dis-owning you? if you kick up a stink and get away with things by court battles and technicalities then go on to have success, what's it all for when no-one respects it or acknowledges it as an achievement, everyone knows it's tainted.

Awesome, we won the flag with the * next to it.

I disagree. Mediocrity and team performance has nothing to do with behaviour in these situations.

IMO if Hird and Essendon had manned up and taken the gift of punishment the AFL offered earlier then all of this could have been over before the start of the 2014 season. Now I predict that Hird will never work in the industry again and Essendon will be very badly damaged and will take a decade to recover and always be remembered as the likely drug cheats (whether its true or not) - they've so damaged their reputations and very importantly their brand, that its one helluva long road back from here.

The damage Hird is doing to Essendon and Essendon is doing to themselves makes our mistake look like a misdemeanor.

Tom Harley going in to bat for Adelaide just now. Champion. Want him at our club so bad.

Should get on to Gerard Whateley. He is pretty unbiased and all over this saga. Im sure a tweet to him about "comparable punishments" and he will give it a mention on 360 Monday night.
