Still time to sack woosha and appoint sheedy!

If sheedy was still in charge he'll be firing the boys up for the next 2 weeks in preperation of this game.

Would be unfair to essendon if they won, to play sat night with the travel day the next day..that scenario would give the QF loser almost a 2 or 3 day break.

Makes too much sense to have them on the Thursday night.

Last year Collingwood finished top 4 and had to cop playing in Perth on the Sat night giving us the shortest break of everyone plus travel. Great reward for finishing 3rd.

This year 5th or 8th gets rewarded with 2 days more recovery time for week 2 than 2nd or 3rd. AFL does it again.

Bring back Sunday day finals.

Please don't--- as a Richmond supporter Sunday afternoon elimination finals have left me a bit scarred.

Richmond has lost the last 3 Elimination finals that have been played on a Sunday afternoon.

And you have the advantage of getting an actual 'home' advantage in finals, by finishing high enough. We're the only team in the comp that doesn't get that advantage. Despite our ground being bigger than GWS' and Metricon, and similar to the Gabba.

Like I said earlier, I've heard all this before. We finished first, yet we have no advantages for achieving that feat.

I don't care about the ground, I care about the hypocrisy of the AFL apparently 'caring about supporters', in general, yet not caring if Geelong supporters can't make it to the game because they've scheduled the game 2 hours after people finish work.

******

I'd like to see you travel from Goolwa to Adelaide, right after you finish work (that's if you finish at 5 and not 5:30 or 6, or later).
You play 2-3 finals a year if you are lucky. Leave an hr earlier from work. Geez cry me a river cats fans.

Essendon finished 8th, fairness for them shouldn’t come into it. Higher ranked teams should get priority. What about the team that finished higher having less recovery time. How’s that fair?

If Richmond lose and Bulldogs win how is it fair that the Dogs will be back in Melbourne Sat night while Richmond will be stuck in Brisbane not flying back until Sunday. Dogs finish 4 positions lower and would have a clear advantage.

In all scenarios this weekend the winners from the bottom 4 will get more recovery time than the team from the top 4 that loses. It’s a joke.

Seems weird saying this when my team might benefit from it - but they've botched this. How does the winner of the Eagles/Bombers game end up getting an extra day of rest over the higher ranked team that they'll face in week 2.

Maybe it doesn't matter so much with the pre-finals week off, but it still seems patently unfair to me.

Same deal if Richmond(3rd) lose first week and play giants(6th) or dogs(7th) who will be able to get home on the Saturday while the tiges won’t get back until Sunday from Brisbane. Still it is what it is and we have no excuses whatever happens.

Yeah most people can't just 'leave work' an hour early, unless they have leave or flex accrued. Also, there's been work on the train lines, which extends the travel time by a fair bit. Most have to leave at 5:30, then get home well after midnight.

You're the last supporters that should be lecturing people about travel times. Wouldn't even know what the outside of the MCG looks like.

Think of it this way.. The pies are probably the easiest side out of the top 5...
Geelong = 5-3 (62.5%)
Brisbane = 4-4 (50.00%)
Richmond = 5-4 (55.56%)
Collingwood = 7-4 (63.64%)
West Coast = 4-4 (50.00%)

Don't know how we're the weakest of the top 5 sides when we have the best winning percentage against top 8 sides amongst the top 5.

We probably should’ve won against Geelong in rd1 so that could be an even better winning %.

Also shows how hard a draw we have had compared to others. 11 games against the top 8, plenty of others only playing 8.

Do some research before posting crap. Teams like rich and Coll travel interstate just as much as Geel do, and have done so for several years. And they do not enjoy the home ground advantage that Geel does for their home games . So cry us a river indeed

Plenty of people in Melbourne live over an hr from the city, lots of hawks and saints fans live in an hr from the city down peninsula way which is just as far as Geelong. Cry me a river, you get the bonus of living near the beach and lower property prices, if you want to go to finals twice a year you drive a bit further.
Not sure if Geelong was always such a whiney club, or if it’s just due to having such a whinging coach that has filtered down to the rank and file?
No wonder you have such a poor finals record under Scott, his woe is me attitude obviously filters down to the players.

Suck it up and just enjoy the Friday night atmosphere.
