I’d say the Dees with Trac, Oliver have the best top 2 but they drop off with Viney as the 3rd

Prestia Taranto Hopper with Cotch/Dusty/Shai rotating through has Dees covered comfortably imo. It’s a wild midfield.

Pretty incredible to be turning what was our biggest weakness this year into the gold standard of the league in one fell swoop.

Taranto is basically a George clone - short, speedy, can win his own ball and burst away.

I think they've basically brought Taranto in as insurance in case there's any problems with George, even tho really he is irreplaceable. Taranto probably won't play too many games with George in the team but it's good to have a back-up, anyway.

There is art to making a midfield work. It is more than having the cattle, flicking the switch and expecting fully amped light.

The new engine room will need moulding and tuning. A midfield specialist coach is piece of the puzzle that is yet in place. Someone to make that engine purr. An exciting recruitment, I hope.

Agree the Dees probably on top with their top two.
You need more then just 2/3 mids though, so say if you pick each teams best 5 midfielders, I reckon ours is probably on top.

Piqued my curiosity, so went through each team and checked highest disposals and clearances to see who were each teams best mids.

I think there are a few comparable to ours, Dees, Blues, Dogs and maybe lions if they get Dunkley and Neale. Freo and GWS are pretty close but maybe half a step down.

Not much between those midfields IMO. But most midfields in the comp only bat 2-3 deep and don’t even have one pinch hitter as good as Bolton, let alone Martin. We can put in 5 A grade clearance mid at any point. And still have Cotch in reserve.

Team is ridiculously deep now.

We have good variety through there too. Extractors, flare, x factor and beast mode Martin
