Hahaha, so all the planning and scheming from Curly for the last year was all for nought because Wright decided there needs to be more action and came up with this deal in an afternoon!!!!

Austin has been on record since trading started to be discussed this year that he was after an additional R1 pick and was willing to offer up future picks, but what transpired today was only due to him being worried about his job.

That is a pretty negative outlook even for you MJ!!!!

Particularly as Wright hasn't started working for us yet. He starts on Monday.

Austin did well, if we keep the picks. His previous draft and trades poor. I always supported the focus on multiple draft picks

Some intel:

Wright and Craig Kelly fell out due to Wright wanting Kelly totally isolated from the football department and from what he saw as interfering and making decisions related to the football department.

Wright expected to be the next CEO in waiting of Collingwood before the board advised him they were staying with Kelly.

Yup invaluable experience in football operations for our club. Can only strengthen our administration.
He’ll have a great opportunity mentored by one of the best CEO in the field, without rivalry, unique opportunity for GW.
We now need to look at football operations manager. Keep our fingers crossed the our next President will be an inspiration too

I am the antithesis of a draft guru, which poor picks has Austin made?

Barely impacted list. Don't want to get into it
Paid 6 for Cerra, 8 for Saad. Williams has not worked
Cowan, Acres, Lij & Ollie good
No evidence Durdin, Motlop has worked
Hopefully Moir, Binns, Lord are ok.
IMO Austin just has not impacted while list has aged.
Best Moves were Friday because they were aggressive

I respect your wish not to go into it further, plus it’s the wrong thread to interrogate Austin’s performance, my only response is that your position is subjective (all opinions are).

I think the general consensus from both fans and the media is that at the start of the season our list was “good enough” so the list management must be doing well for that to be situation.
