Surely this is a joke? The guy was obviously an all time great. But does he have any sports administration experience? He has a degenerative brain condition and experiences memory loss..... surely not?

I don't want to be one of those supporters who drops the old "that's it, I'm done!" routine. But this would leave me feeling very flat about Sayers and the board and their ability to run the club.

There’s plenty of appeal to having Diesel at the club; but, as with a few of the earlier posters, I don’t know enough about the role & duties of the Director of Football to understand if he’s best suited to the role. But hope he can at least ‘mentor’ some of the younger players.
