I like him more and more...

A bit forgotten in rehab. I still have high hopes for Chappy.

Part of that is hoping we can start to be played up the ground and rotate between wing and back. I think he is under utilised in the backline as it is currently made up.

Put him in the middle with his increased size, evasion and skills. Maybe at some of the contests Jackson is on the bench or forward.

IMO he is to talented to leave in the back half unless they move clark or Young to the midfield and he is played in their role.

I think we had too many defenders trying to play loose and intercept kicks in our first few games. Our defence now has a better balance of attack and defence. That's why I think playing Chappy on a wing and then rotating him back when Young or Ryan are on the bench is an idea worth considering.

Hughes is playing his position until he's back. 3rd tall down back and rotation to a wing

I find myself checking the injury list every couple of weeks to see where he's at. Seems like a particularly bad hammy but I trust Merriman to get it right. Speaking of who, we should be throwing the guy a 5 year contract, doing a great job

We picked a pretty good time to bottom out. Such a shame we couldn't make 2018 count with the strong hand we had but at least we nailed the other 5 drafts.
2018 isnt bad....

ok Luke Valente didnt work out.

I am still holding on to faint hope Sam Sturt makes it. I admit I was Shane Kerstens biggest fan on the freo board when he had a solid 2017 season...

Lachie Schulz looks solid for a mature ager.

I was hoping Brett Bewley was gonna last a while too.

Jordan clark was pick 15 in that 2018 draft. We traded him in at the end of 2021.

I think between Jordan Clark, Lachie Schulz and Sam Sturt, I think Clark will be the last man standing

Actually I think they are concerned about the back to back injuries and have put him on a strength program to ensure he breaks the run of strains. So he possibly could have returned sooner under a different rehab program.

Great to see them prioritising long term health and fitness over rushing players back only for them to get reinjured.

I worry about Chappy talked about playing on the wing. Too much soft tissue stuff going on to be playing such a physically taxing role.
I think Brad Johnson said it last week but it would be good to see Young move into more of a midfield role. Like a Jordan Dawson type. Develop down back then move into the mid, where he can really maximize the deadly left foot

it's great to have that luxury

I'd forgotten about his previous injury TBH, was it a back or soft tissue I can't remember? Either way agree that long term health and fitness is the way :thumbsu:
