I’m genuinely easy either way. If he nets us something from the Aints great, if he walks to a draft and doesn’t get to where he’s been promised/wants to go I’m cool with that too.
I don't even know why Bell asked him what his preferred club was. He just wanted to live in Melbourne with his mates.

Your trade scenarios are frustrating and pessimistic because you like it being your schtick though so whatever
Well this time I am realistic. Some people on here actually think we will get a 1st rounder for Henry alone. LoL.

Dockers get the bad end of the trading stick. This is no exception.

Freo don't always get the bad end of the stick at all. Freo often make dumb decisions with picks.

Picking up Hogan and Lobb instead of going to the draft with excellent picks in a very strong draft. Etc etc

That’s not really true. We’ve done well in some cases and not so well in others. Some trades were just on par. Overall it’s more of a case of a mixed bag really.

As satisfying as it would be in the immediate term, wouldn’t walking Henry to the draft and then picking him again create massive discontent amongst the players? Sounds like the ultimate case of cutting off your nose to spite your face to me.
I don't care. It would piss off Colin Young.

Only if Henry sooks it up big time

I don't reckon he would, probs would sack Col for failing him though

Not sure if it's relevant or not but in 2016 Bob Maumill outed Hagdorn as a very good friend with Young on air. Always remember it because Crumpet face was , for some reason, very angry and upset with maumill.

Don't think that was ever a big secret. Crumpets and Colon both worked on that online sports gossip production called "Sports News First".

Actually heard Crumpets on radio recommending that Fremantle should consider Colon as list manager around the time when Mark Micallef had the job.

Henry wouldn’t make it to Freo. North have shown interest, also Hawks (Sam Mitchell) met with with Henry.

I doubt West Coast would stand in his way and draft him. But the other two absolutely would. Western Bulldogs, Essendon also likely before the Saints pick. So Saints have no Pre-season threat at all.

Saints only threat is walking him through the national draft, a risky play in a shallow draft for a recently turned 22 year old, its not like he is Luke Ball at the end of his career, this bloke has 10 years if you draft him.

My initial thinking was that maybe Liam wanted to go to St Kilda more than St Kilda actually wanted him but it could be that Silvagni really did think he was the best available talent in the draft when Carlton placed a bid on him.

For Lyon, I could see Henry as being somewhat similar to the type of player that Danyle Pearce was when he came to Fremantle in 2013 - someone that he could teach the physical contest, make him a harder player while playing the role in his game plan which has always relied on having preferred players that the rest of the team can give the ball to for that run and carry and delivery into the 50m.

So I think there's probably much more to the move to St Kilda than just Liam picking the team he likes or Colon telling him where the best dollar is.

Danyle Pearce could kick a ball more than 40m.
