Connor Nash was Excellent in 2023.

We now know he will never be the best player at the Hawks. But he has teeth. He can quell any player with his size and strength while still using his innate rare skills to extract the ball.

Already, Connor Nash is something different and something special. If he improves further … wow.

When the Hawks win their next premiership, Connor Nash will be on that podium.

Agree I think he will keep improving and be a point of difference for us.

When we start climbing people will pay attention but he is already a very good player. His placing in the crimmins medal will be interesting - comfortably top 10 I think. Maybe 5-6.

20+ possessions but still strong in a defensive role. And a brute in the contest.

Nash's improvement has been off the charts.
I did not expect him to reach these levels.
He destroys contests.
Been the biggest suprise of the year (a very pleasant surprise).

I said at the start of the year he would need to get 18 to 20 disposals a game on top of his defensive pressure to maintain his spot.

The fact he was regularly pumping out 25 disposal games was something I definitely did not predict.

Comfortably best 22, probably best 10 these days which I for one did not see coming.

Massive props to the big Irishman 👍

No browlow votes, which i found surprising. A genuine part of our midfield now. Should have a long career with us. I'd give him another 3.
Also if there was a league wide most improved award IMO then you'd have him easily finishing in the the top 5

while surprising he could not get a single vote, it’s not totally unheard of for the midfielder type he is. An accountable, no frills, defensive minded midfielder allow others to play offensively.

At the Lions Neale got all the votes as Dunkley does all the dirty work that allows Neale to hunt the ball and Dunkley only got 3 or 4 votes if am not mistaken

Connor Nash has transformed his AFL playing career from a question mark (?) into an emphatic statement (!)

3rd best player at the Hawks as voted by his coaches.

And most improved

Richly deserved honours for a player that is more influential than many (outside of Hawthorn) know.

Roll on big man and continue to embarrass every big name player that you play against

If Nash can improve his overhead game he will be a real force. He is already a very effective mid but if he can be swung forward as an extra marking option, he will have Bontempelli-like impact. Overhead marking obviously does not come naturally to him but if he can get the hang of it, he has the size and strength to be very very damaging.

I used to call him Nash Potato
I was on the delist train. Thought he was terrible.
Now - Cold Hard Nash
Credit to mostly himself, but also Sam to recognize his untapped talent and playing him where he could boss it.

Absolutely awesome. Stoked for him personally, an amazing story. Well done CN

Promote him to the leadership group. Day or Nash will be the next captain after Sicily is done, IMO.
I actually think Nash would make an amazing captain- he has leadership traits oozing out of him and I think that although Day is the better player, I think his leadership style is driven by action, whilst I think Nash might be able to provide more for our playing group.

Not even Finn could tag this bloke. He stops his opponent and wins his own ball. Imagine if he were captain, you'd do whatever the hell he said and enjoy it.
