I know he was Brown to start but i think he may of changed to gold maybe? He was in the possibles pre sure.Browns were the probable's in the 2nd half so if Finn played with them he had a good first half.
That's a good sign.

His literal ONLY issue has been his kicking. As stated by others i suspect it's mainly due to his new running technique or in general when he is running. Needs to just chill and slow bit hard going as quick as him but he'll learn hopefully and if he can fix that wowee.Ok, if that is the case it is less good.
I have seen him played in Gold in the 4th quarter along with Ned Long and Shiels. What color jumper did he wear in the 2nd half of the intra club?
OK that's some positive news. This would take a little time... Bit like slight changes to your golf swing. You need at least 2-3 months for muscle memory, etc especially under match conditions. His kicking has been fine until these last few training reports.
Maybe his new running technique means he needs to adjust a little.
This is all true, but it would seem he's just better/more consistent kicking away from being the super dangerous inside/outside midfielder other teams need to worry about tagging.for mine, Fin is the archetypal tagger. He is big, can tackle, can run all day, has speed enough in most situations, is better than good in close and gets the handball out without panic.
He may improve his kicking… and that would be great… but there is no player on our list so well suited to nullify an opposition player than Fin.
Sam Mitchell knows how effective a good tagger can be (knees aside )
Howe was tried as a tagger but, while he did a few good jobs, was too slow.
I watched Cousins nullify Merrett… but Cousins was too slow for the role.
I think Fin is our tagger. And I think he could nullify, or at minimum reduce the impact of, just about every afl player bar 3.
Agree or not… it just makes sense. (Sorry Keka… I stole your line)
Why would you make a guy that quick and strong a tagger? You try to make him an offensive threat, if that fails yeah maybe a tagger. We lack line breakers and burst mids in the middle. We are only just starting to see his athletic upside, give him a good run of afl/vfl games over next two years and his footy side should continue to improve. We lack mids who can get seperation from a contest - JOM/worpel have to rely on a fend and Mitchell kicks around the corner. As CJ showed last year having guys who can break a line really changes your offence.

Given how little defensive pressure and chasing those 2 do. Finn could be a lot slower and still get away.He has great endurance, but does he have the break-away speed we need that you get from guys like Danger, Dusty and co?
Just needs to use it at levels above average and we will have a real player, even elite. We cannot have another Joey Kennedy on our hands. His disposals improved incredibly or reliably when he landed in Sydney whilst maintaining his contested bull status.I don't think the whole club is as athletically gifted as he is.
His top speed was pushing 40km/hr which is beyond elite, Bolts in his WR run was like 43.
His endurance has been shown to be beyond elite aswell while his strength is unreal. Just a freak.
I reckon He does, just learning how to use it (plus has worked on his speed over summer). Watch the first 10-15 secs of the intra club highlights - he gets the ball and cruises out of contest leaving others in his wake.He has great endurance, but does he have the break-away speed we need that you get from guys like Danger, Dusty and co?
It's more acceleration that these players have, than speed. He has great endurance, but does he have the break-away speed we need that you get from guys like Danger, Dusty and co?
Yeah but boy does he rocket out of stoppages like no one elseAre people forgetting that Dangerflog has received 8x AA with a Brownlow medal thanks to being a big fast campaigner that shanks kicks.
At one point in 2018 he had 2.42 from shots on the run from 40 m out.Are people forgetting that Dangerflog has received 8x AA with a Brownlow medal thanks to being a big fast campaigner that shanks kicks.

Yes it was exactly that. Except with a typo. Haha, I just noticed I wrote 42. Should be 23. But still. From closer to 30 he was far more accurate, but a lot of those behinds were also burning team mates.2 goals 42 behind??? Surely that cannot be correct
There have been quite a few good AFL level mids recently who started in run-with roles before expanding their game. I think it helps a lot of players expand their game.Jack Steele started out as a tagger and has become one of the AFL’s premier ball winners… while also continuing with tackles and pressure acts.
This is the footballing career path I hope Fin follows.
He could not get a better education on how to find the ball on the outside than to follow the best ball winners. And the only way he will get that education is to play against, and beat them one on one, using his current talents = size, speed, endurance and great hands in close. (reason: if he looses as a tagger he will not get a second chance… there are too many other players ready for a spot in the team).

Ed Curnow, Liam Picken, Jack Steele, Liam Shiels are all players who started in more defensively accountable roles before becoming more damaging over time.
