Honestly, how good was Morrison yesterday?

16 disposals, 3 score involvements, 9 marks and 2 tackles in less than half a game of football.

For me, he’s the best sub option we have going into the remainder of the year. I love Breusty, but he can’t offer the above at his age. Also seriously hope we find a way to keep him at the club.
We have struggled to get out sub right at stages this year but Morrison is absolutely taylor made for that role.

Can play all three lines and hits the ground running the moment he is on the field.

My frustration with Morrison stems from the fact that we were playing him as a best 22 selection at a time when the team was not settled and our midfield was not performing. He's a great depth option or peripheral role player in a settled team, like the on we are 80% of the way towards building. He's not the sort of guy you want to rely on when you don't have the main pieces in place.

I don't mind him in a squad of 26-28 players, as an option behind more talented players.
He could become our Simpkin, but he should look for another club bc he deserves to play senior football.

I argued this a lot last season. He'd look sensational for Carlton on the wing opposite to Blake Acres right now.

I believe the Bulldogs are also negligent if they don't ask the question to Harry's management.

We need to try and keep Morrison, squads win premierships.

Poor old Chad Wingards age don’t fit our list demographic well.

I’d rather keep Gunston and Bruest for another year. Even if they only play 12 games a year. There experience would also be beneficial if we make finals in 2025 as expected.

If Hinkley moves on at years end, I would not be surprised to see Wingard return to Port for 2025 as a F/A.

Don’t we have boat loads of cap space? We need guys like Morrison around the squad. Keep him, offer him a decent sized short term contract and if he must leave, force another club to bump their offer (even though he’s unrestricted), to hopefully give us better compo.

I think Chad like Breust and Gunners is invaluable in teaching the youngsters and he is class act. If he can stay fit, he may still have a role to play if we continue winning and play finals this year and next.

I suspect Harry will make the decision. I can see Hawks offering an extension, however, without consistent first 22 game time Harry may decide to move for more action. He has Hawks in the blood, so would not be surprised he is happy to stay and fight for a regular spot. Hope so.

I had a vison the other day of Chad getting his form back to the levels he was last year before the achilles and pushing us up another level in finals. Bruest and Lewis hitting peak form too.

If we did make it he's exactly what we need, our biggest gap this year is the composure to finish and make the right decisions in the front half. Wizard, Dear, Macdonald, Ginni, Mackenzie have all struggled to convert and made little errors that ruin a play like missing the open player or spoiling a teammate, missing set shots. At his best Chad is clinical and sets things up and takes his chances.

Morrison should be in the team. Not only does he make smart decisions when. in possession, he rarely loses a contest. He's not given the credit he is due by many supporters.
Agree. He’s not the tallest, not the strongest and not the fastest player. But he just does all the basics of the game really well. Rarely makes mistakes. A very, very good footballer.

Agreed, he's the perfect depth player. If we can keep him around and he wants to stay knowing that will be his role going forward, I'm all for it.
And that’s the problem, no one wants to be a depth player. He is at his peak and would be starting 22 for a number of teams. I think he could go another level if he was played every week instead of constantly being in and out of the team.
