Interesting to see the auction for match day jumpers opened on our website, and of course the highest bid is $4,000 for number 15. There have been 23 bids thus far. No surprises there, but the second highest number of bids is 17 for jumper 35, so it seems a lot of other people have been impressed as well.

Couple of times last night, he was isolated with johannison, both times got beaten, but both times he was trying to take him on. Whilst he lost out last night, a reckon in a couple of preseason, he'll have the strength to shrug the tackles/keep his feet. But I love the fact he was still confidant enough to try and take on the player. Some good signs. Neat disposal, good pace, finds space. Liking the early signs

Good to hear he had another good game. I thought he was good against Coburg but had a few reservations about his size and pace. He looks like a footballer but guys circa 180cms and 75kgs need to have elite skills to make it in the AFL.
Hope he makes it.

I thought his debut at senior level was very promising. He can certainly find the footy. A few more preseasons will be important.

Harry was a draft slider due to a knee reconstruction in 2014. Didn't play for 14 months. Hard to say what he would have gone at without injury. Another Burto.

Any chance we change our motto from "The Family Club," to "The Knee Reconstruction Club." Great awareness by Greame Wright and his staff.

I believe that Hallaran is another at Box Hill who also drifted i the draft, but for different reasons, who could be a goer next year.

Our future is looking good, and next year we could be looking at our next basic group to take us forward.

Hanrahan has a lot of skill and x-factor, but he is a little small atm like Miles... they need pre-seasons in the gym, look at Sicily, his arms were sticks when he first got here, now he is filling out and is more confident in himself...

Would be a nervous day if you were drafted by the hawks with two working knees.

I was there last night and he was very impressive. Agree that he got pushed around quite easily but clearly that will change in time.

He looked his age out there physically and, like Caleb Daniel, Conor Glass and JJ was very easy to spot at any one time.

Picks like Harry are the ones the club has to keep potentially getting right if we are to challenge hard again soon.

We need more Poppys, Bruests, Sewells etc to offset the lack of genuine high draft picks we'll have access too.

He can go back & play finals for Box Hill now, right?

Gee, wouldn't that have him up & about - playing in Hodgey's & Gibbo's last game in a close win in front of 50,000, getting plenty of the footy & going at 80%, then heading into his first Finals Series as a professional?!?!

Can't argue with that Davo. In fact I was looking at how well Sicily's upper body has developed last night. This helps him hold his ground when when going for his marks.

Sorry but that's bullshit
A game with zero intensity and pressure my arse
It was a great game of footy last night and two teams were cracking in
One for its retiring stars
One for a chance at finals

From where I was sitting (at the game) that was one of the lowest intensity matches of AFL footy you will see. Sure, it was free flowing but it was clearly bruise free footy from both teams. Dogs knew they weren't going to make finals and it showed. All the reports I've read of the match today stated that same viewpoint. No pressure, low intensity, bruise free.

Of course, you are entitled to your opinion, it's just that I, and most others I've read, disagree with you.

Yeah I was at the game too, just because it wasn't a maul didn't mean the players were playing bruise free footy. Bulldogs weren't putting enough players into the middle at times, but there were phenomenal efforts in the contest by some players, Mitchell, Hardwick and Poppy in particular.

Loved it that he tried to take Johanisson (or however you spell it) on with some body work, lost due to strength, but tried again a couple minutes later anyway.
That's exactly the type of thing we need as the old guys retire and we transition to a younger list. Players who are willing to try, fail, and then try again. And thankfully we maintain a senior coach in Clarkson who nurtures that. A lesser coach who is just trying to avoid getting the axe wouldn't stand for that anywhere nearly as much.

We must have watched a different game

Reckon quite a few of the blokes from both teams would disagree with you as well

Saw those contests. Soundly beaten in both by Johannisen as you've said, but another thing I really loved from Morrison is he didn't drop his head or take a backwards step despite being beaten fairly comprehensively. Seems to have a fearless approach to the game which is absolutely fantastic to see.

I'm guessing Mr and Mrs Morrison.

I played against his old man Darby Morrison in his later years at Benalla Allblacks, he was a top bloke and very smart footballer.

Harry played as a midfielder for the Benalla Saints but played more on a back flank for the Bushrangers, they like to build flexibility into their kids, Leon Higgins (coach) is big on this. Harry suffered with a niggling back injury that might have led to him sliding in the draft.

The thing that impressed me most was his intelligence to run to the right spots. Not to be the first or second kick target but to be that potential 3rd kick which tends to open the defense up more often. I know they train that every week, but there was no hesitancy in joining in the structure

Just another thing too, he was very vocal around the stoppages sorting out where teammates needed to be. Very impressive to see a first gamer get involved in a 'leaders' role

Great way to begin his AFL career, hopefully there are many more games to come

Showed great vision and skills last night, yes he's a bit undersized at the moment and got pushed out of the way a few times, but another couple of preseasons in the gym will sort that out.
