No but there's a restriction with how much is covered under the rookie cap. The new deal will cover when he comes off the rookie list. He's still on the rookie list right? How does that work with signing him to 3 years? Is there a restriction with how much a rookie can get paid?
Have been very impressed with his professionalism and maturity in a few of the media pieces. Conducts himself like an old head, not someone who was banging around the Poowong local league...Assuming he's in the leadership group too.
Will captain the club one day.
This is great news . Another piece locked in!
I wouldn't worry about him recieving more attention . That was happening especially in the back half of last season.
Handled it pretty well I thought, plus we will have a bigger spread to handle the load over time .
Duke has quickly become my favourite player and I think will become our best player, but I can't picture him as Captain. Seems too laid back. I think Day and Ward are more likely.
Every now and then a young player shows leadership potential very early. Hodge is a case in point. He was very vocal from the beginning. Most new players just want to learn the game plan and their role and adapt to the pace of senior footy. Among the younger players, I reckon CMac might be the one to watch. I thought he showed glimpses of leadership in his first season - probably more than Ward.I think we have a great group of very young potential leaders just not a heap of senior leaders atm

The only player in the AFL Comp who could effectively tag Jai would be ….. Finn MaginessThis is great news . Another piece locked in!
