On The Couch talking about Will Day and whether he can be our version of Sam Walsh.

Apparently right now he’s comparatively rating higher. So maybe the question should be can Sam Walsh be Carlton’s version of Will Day?

Walsh is a great player, but I wonder if Day could become more like the Bont with his athleticism, smarts and overhead marking. I like Day playing across the HBF line, but we are well served in that area.

That bit of play with about 6 mins in the 1st quarter where he didn't take a possession but influenced two contests and then dived to knock the ball to a teammate was unbelievable.

Out of all the players on our list reckon he is the one that hates to lose the most, get him around the ball or as the outlet and good things will happen

We really need him to bulk up so he can make the transition into the midfield.

If he can't put on the requisite size it's not the end of the world, as he's already a gun HBF and could become a gun wingman. But I think he could have the most influence for us as a classy midfielder.
I would like him to bulk up to increase his resilience to injury as well.

If he could get to a playing weight of say 86 to 88kg that would be a good outcome for his body type I think.

He rode the bump better than he has in the past.

He's done a few things that show much better body awareness in contests this year - the mark he took that injured McDonald against the Swans he was well braced for contact running back with the flight.

I thought he was toast, he came out smashing the opponent and winning the ball.

Really, really positive sign for him and the team.

Hi, Michael Tuck here. I don’t know why you have an obsession with bulking up.

Because he could then potentially become a full-time midfielder and absolutely maximize his potential.

There isn't a single midfielder in the league currently that is as slight as he is.
