Do you think he is better than Wardlaw, Tsatis, Cadman?

I preferred him to Tsatas the whole way (mainly due to his kicking skills).

Wardlaw and Cadman were never a chance. Sheezel was my number one most wanted player, but he was never a chance either. It was really a discussion between Clark, Tsatas and Mackenzie with a side of Phillipou.

He is the best fit for us

This. So much this.
If you could pick from a menagerie of things holding us up from being dangerous as a team, foot skills to keep an attacking thrust forward alive and putting teammates to advantage was my No.1 interest in what a young mid could bring to us.
Not explosiveness. Not height and being a bigger mid. Not drifting forward to kick goals. It's the Effing ability to find a way into the chain of disposal, either by finding it first or by understanding where to be to receive, and then cutting out the opposition by lacing the footy into a teammates hands.

Getting the full nut sack of having that skill PLUS EXPLOSIVENESS, HEIGHT AS A BIGGER MID, KNOWING WHERE THE GOALS ARE, is just the absolute gravy with this kid.
What a great pick.

I know it's just a practice match but that's honestly as impressive as it gets for a 1st year player in their 1st hitout.

Normally you hope for about 1 or 2 moments from them to show a glimpse of what could be in the future. He showed about 10.

Composure. Class. Skill. Decision-making. Vision. Finishing. I think we have a very very good player on our hands

11 score involvements. That was the number Mackenzie recorded. Only De Goey could match that. He also had 24 disposals while maintaining a disposal efficiency of 75%. He exemplified all the aspects that we have talked so highly of: Composure. Class. Skill. Decision-making and vision. If he's doing that in a half-forward/midfielder role at only 19, then the AFL is his oyster for the next 15 years.

In the strangest way his just fixed our midfield, and they all seemed to play more cohesive as the game went on. Ward, Worpel, day are all the better for having McKenzie around the ball. Given jai some more space to.

How quickly he goes from touch to decision to kick is something special, so dam fast
