You said it all last year too, and he went nowhere.

Maybe just wait and let it play out rather than declaring “he’s gone”.

I did but also said that if he went back home it would be on a minimum chips contract as he he was out for all of 22. His management did a really smart move in signing him for the one year - got his shoulder right, got fit and subsequently upped his value significantly thus year

End of the day though I’m jumping at shadows but it’s hard to ignore the gut feel. Fair point though, will see how it all plays out

Liked him crunching Ziebell. He's a big lad and not many can do that. Perfect tackle technique.

Wish he was a bit more selfish at times. A similar comment I'm sure plenty of us made with Cyril.

Many times he would have been well in rights to have a shot but handballed instead to a player of lesser talent.

Box Hill fell to a fourth loss on the season on Saturday, going down to an in-form Footscray by 20 points.

"Brocky looked as though he lacked a little bit of energy on the weekend, he didn't bring his normal spark. He had just the one tackle, he kicked a goal, but we would've loved to see him chase, pressure and bring that energy that we've seen him bring at AFL-level this year. We need to get that out of him now, so we can see it again hopefully before the year is out."

Is it a case of, in his mind he's already left?

The tea leaves indicate the young man is headed home. With kids, I completely understand it. Would absolutely have loved to keep him, and don't think we'll get full value in a trade. Also not sure if he realises Perth is a very small fish bowl.

Wish him and his family all the best though.

No point sugar coating this - disappointing whichever way you look at it. We have moved heaven and earth for this kid to no avail - he was always going back home which is ok. Most disappointing thing is that he is devaluing his trade currency significantly as each week passes. WCE can legitimately argue that he is player who struggles with consistency when everyone knows his ceiling is very high and his true value is second round pick at worse. WCE will get him for either a bag of chips or for nothing via the PSD

There's another team in WA that wants his signature.

Do you know that he wants to play for WCE? They've got a super long rebuild coming.

And you can just as easily argue he has checked out, it’s a hard trade whichever way it falls though because theirs plenty of talent their and we likely don’t get fair trade because we will look after him

The WA teams would know from a long way out what he is worth. I doubt the last few weeks would make any difference.

If he were to want out, the best result for us would come from both WA teams wanting him. If not then our hands are very much tied in any negotiation

They are a good club. When they go hard rebuild (in 2 weeks), they will bounce back very quickly—unlike their bffs twighlight zone freo.

You can't just flick a switch and expect to bounce back up the ladder.

They have the worse age profile in the league, no ruck, no midfield, one decent KPD and one elite KPF. They rest is made up of bit players or players looking to retire.

Sure, they have work to do, but they will do it, and in 5 years or so be back in contention. Remember they were last in 2010 and then GFed in 2015

They're 4+ years behind our rebuild. No chance they will be 'contending' in 5 years.

Poor Brocky :'(

He will get a regular game in a side which will take a good few years to become contenders again, by which stage he will be 27-28, paid very solid coin in the interim and living with/raising his family at home.

Smart Brocky.
