One big thing is we will finally have all our key forwards who are great set shots at goal. Luko, MG and Marshall.

It is something about the Crows, they can be playing terribly with low I50's, but stay in games because Tex and Fogarty rarely miss.

Lukosius, Georgiades and Marshall aren't comparable to Walker and Fogarty.

Looking at the last 3 seasons Walker kicks at 66% and Fogarty at 67%.

Lukosius and Georgiades are well below this at 56% and 55% respectively. Marshall kicks at 67% which looks great BUT his accuracy has been steadily declining from 75% to 69% to 53% year on year which is concerning.

Marshall having a shredded hip which we proceeded to make him make worse and is likely to be slowly degrading, probably impacted his accuracy year on year

I'm aware of that but if he's got a bad hip then he's quite possibly not going to be a great set shot ever again.

Sometimes perception can differ from reality in this space. Dixon for instance kicked at 62% the last 3 years, comfortably superior to both Lukosious and Georgiades as well as 2024 Marshall.

Your comparison is also a little unfair - Georgiades had the yips before this year, where he's become a lot more accurate and Jack Lukosius has only had one year as a permanent forward where he kicked at 64%. Fogarty also kicked under 60% in 2023, so it can vary year-on-year. I'm not saying they're all as accurate as Walker and Fogarty, but we have some decent shots for goal up forward now.

We've had the worst score per shot from set shots in the league in each of the last 2 seasons.

I think we generally generate worse scoring opportunities because we don't generate space, but it's absolutely also mental. We're AFL average from general play.

Gold Coast threw most of their kpf strategy into King with Luko not being overly tall or strong to be the main focus , hopefully we can be creative to use him as a main target but a roaming one

Looking forward to seeing what Jack can do. Hopefully we don't shuffle him down back due to our injuries.

Poor old Wazza must have been staring at the sun too much and is now sensitive to bright lights (jk, I love you Wazza)

He's off his **** on radiated water.

The problem with Lukosius and also Marshall is that we pay for them in both salary cap and draft/trade terms as though they are high quality key forwards when in actual fact they're just unreliable fringey third tall types that might kick a few one week and then not get a kick the next. These players can be useful (eg Thurstans in '04) but gee you wouldn't want to set your forward line up around them.

I would give up on the forward thing and just play him in the Houston role. GC have already worked out thats his best position. The commentators mentioned during the game that JHF was frustrated that Luko wouldn't lead at the ball.

Either way we cannot win a Premiership with him on the list.
