I wouldn't have picked Atkins either - I'm astounded he's here tbh - but I disagree that a bunch of speculative 18yo skinny kids getting beaten most weeks and claiming the first wooden spoon in >100 years does much for our AFL team either.
Winning is good preparation. A couple more Atkins in the 2nds make this more likely. The chance that his list place costs us a Houston of the future is real, but unlikely.
I honestly didn’t even know he was on Gold Coast list.

Not trying to be a smart arse. Just pointing out we hardly ever win a trade. Carlton on the other hand often do.
Mitchell and Buckley our best two over a very long period.
We've also lost Treloar, Adams, Grundy in the last few years.
Port still contenders with a bit of luck.
