If he was in Richmond's top 5 players as a "footballer, " you would be disappointed he left and not be rapt he went to another club. My brother is a mad Richmond supporter and he doesn't think Lloyd is up to it. Good luck to him on getting another chance, he needs now to show his worth with consistent performances.
I am very disappointed believe me. I have no power as to what happens though, but I am glad he’s gone elsewhere to seek the opportunities I feel he deserves, and am looking forward to him hopefully playing as well as I expect.

Someone on here has said he has never kicked more than 3 in any game ?
Where's your 4 coming from ?
Don't mind all the positivity, but from all I have seen he looks only a solid pick up at best.
That surprised me a little, but true.
He kicked 3 on 11 occasions within his first 42 games including 35 for the season in 2016. Then when we went with that pressure game and he lost his place and couldn’t get back in when we kept winning.
So he’s obviously well up to it.
And I maintain he’s actually a far better player now having gone back and upping his own pressure and developing a tank which seen him getting over 30 touches regularly in the twos whilst still kicking goals, yet still he couldn’t break back in regularly.
The other thing no Richmond supporter would argue with is due to him being a mature age debutant he probably wasn't AFL fit to begin with, but every pre season it was always noticed how much harder and fitter he gets. To me he has been very hard done by and desperately unlucky.

Hmmm... he's from Richmond. I guess I can forgive him. Maybe. At least he's not related to Matthew Lloyd. Or is he?

Welcome, Sam! :p

After tonight's performance I, Chicago1, officially forgive Sam Lloyd for his Richmond past.

So happy Lloydy’s found a home.

Good to see him kick two on debut for you guys and looks like he’s getting involved.

I wish him all the best and I hope he has a very successful career with you guys.

I was one of the most skeptical when Lloyd came to the club. Still stand by he not being the club’s saviour. However, extremely happy that his VFL form has not only transferred to our football but he looks like a different player to what he was during his tigers prime a few years ago.
He’s still slow as hell but showed composure and his decision making was spot on.
15-20 disposals plus 1-2 goals a game ? Yes please !!!

He was a small forward until we went for all out speed .... he then went back to the VFL where he built a tank playing midfield.
When he did get back in the side he was unlucky not to keep his spot.
We also had a very good run with injuries too which made it hard for him.
He is an AFL player... I’m really glad he is able to show it.

Having a fine season and well on the way to 30+ goals.

Many on the Bombers board suggesting that Stringer is a chance for their B&F. Lloyd's numbers are just as good;

Goals: 16 each
Disposals: Lloyd 155, Stringer 124
Marks: Lloyd 49, Stringer 34
Inside 50: Lloyd 27, Stringer 30
Clearances: Lloyd 11, Stringer 16
Marks Inside 50: Lloyd 17, Stringer 19
Goal Assists: Lloyd 7, Stringer 6

Cost us pick 64. Great 'moneyball' selection.
