I've changed my mind
I reckon they are looking good for the top 4 now & from there anything can happen.
Thank flock I don't live in WA any more
those knobs winning again would be unbearable for any non-chardonnay dinker in that state.
NicNat excellent & so important
loving the improvement in Gaff
Yeo is quality
I don't drink Chardanay, hell I can't even spell it.
I am also not a Knob.
But I do thank Flock I live here and go for an awesome team.

RTB - you got the breakdown in the first 11 rounds versus the last 11-12 rounds?

I recall looking at the bye effect in the early 90's - very clear advantage to the team with the bye in the second half of the year, massive disadvantage in the first half of the year!

Since 2010 (NB have removed GWS v Sydney R1 2012 from the result set as days since last game = 0, i.e. 'undefined' for GWS)
up to game 11: 4-4-0
game 12+: 9-6-0

All examples prior to 2010
up to game 11: 11-16-1
game 12+: 12-22-0

Oh don't get me wrong I'm backing us to win, I think we are the better team, just saying if we lose I don't feel it's really a representation of where we are at considering the circumstances. Of course the bigfooty brains trust will fall back on the flat track bully train despite us already beating a number of teams who flogged us last year.

I would say flat track bullies is quite apt... if you made top 4 you'd be the weakest top 4 side for many years.

You lost to Melbourne....

this thread is about west coast not richmond isn't it? I was merely pointing out the teams you have beaten which has given west coast supporters an inflated opinion of how good thier team actually is, not a top 4 side.

I doubt any realistic Eagles supporter thinks we are as good as our ladder position currently suggests. All we can do is beat the sides the VFL tell us to play, and we have done that, by an average of 58 points so far.

You're not actually arguing against anyone though. Eagles supporters are pretty conservative with where we think we'll finish this year.

Hopefully we don't lose to Melbourne either.

Then again, if we win on Friday, I guess we are still flat track bullies, as we won't have beaten anyone above us.

You've played the same teams except remove GWS, St Kilda and Gold Coast and insert Melbourne, Collingwood and the bye with no back to back 6 day breaks.

And you say our draw has been ridiculous?

Pointing out stats is cool, it's the snide jab that you stuck in at the end that wasn't necessary.

We're almost half way through the season and WC is sitting third on the ladder. With a second year coach, the loss of two KPP's and a side with an uncertain formline over the past 3 years, who knows where WC can go from here?

We've beaten a lot of sides that prior to this season would have either been 50/50 games, or bad losses (Port @AO, Cats, Bombers). I don't think it's fair to be calling WC "flat track bullies" anymore. Not when WC has beaten teams outside of the bottom 4, and dropped one game against a finalist from last year (North). Calculate in the tightness of the comp this year and it isn't as easy as going "They beat a team in the bottom 9", when realistically any team from 12th upwards could play finals footy.

We supporters of WC have a right to start believing we aren't a middling middle side anymore. We're on the up, just like your Tigers are.

Bring on Friday night.

collingwood, port away and freo away are better wins then any of yours. Id only give you port away as a decent victory. Not saying you haven't done well with what you have been dealt I'm saying the top 4 talk about you is utter nonsense.

Every year there are teams that finish in the 8 or even top 4, off the back of a softer draw than others, it's how it works every year. We did it in 2011, Crows did it in 2012, Port did it in 2013, it happens, & I bet if you went back over time, you could mount a case for plenty of sides that made the finals because of a "soft" draw.

In the end, if you finish 4th, you are a top 4 side, just like the shit people spin about deserving to win. If you won, you deserved to win end of story.

You go to say Tigers beating Port away is better than any win we've had then go on to say Port away is our only decent win??

So you've had 2 good wins more than us? Youve also lost to Melbourne and Geelong. 2 losses we haven't come close to equalling

We have also belted every side that's come to Subi (apart from Freo) no interstate side has got within 50 points of us. We flogged GWS, next week they beat the Hawks, does that make it a good win. Or the cats belted the pies, and then we flogged them, does that count as a good win??

It can all be spun however people want it to be. Like I said before, if somehow we win on Friday it'll be another flat track performance, because they aren't above us on the ladder.

What I like about West Coast is they have a solid average and median of games played with the 22 they send out every week. This doesn't always equate to success but it's a good start. Below are some tables I made to consider.

No team has won a Grand Final in the last 10 years with a median below 98.5(Hawks 08)

And Melbourne and Geelong are worse losses then any the eagles have had. What's your point?
