Currently it seems the Beagles are doing very little to develop our next tier.

My understanding (from reading here) is that the club has been negotiating with WAFL (WAFC?) to find ways to bring in other external players to boost the Beagles.

But right now we could add any/all of JD, Witherdon, Rotham, JJ and Petro. Maybe Flynn or BW. Sheed when fit.

That should greatly assist the Beagles as well as opening up spots in the Eagles to audition players for the future.

PS: all of them have had many opportunities so if any are unhappy about their relegation then maybe we/they need to think about their future at the club.

I am a little optimistic that the Beagles can roll West Perth. With two players to come back from the Afl squad and having both Sheed and Gaff playing it looks like a better balanced team. The cherry on the cake will be if Darling plays wafl.
West Perth are struggling in their Kpd stocks and if the Beagles get it to him he could have a field day.

Pretty sure he has signed a deal already

There’s been nothing announced by the club and no reports anywhere that a contract has even been offered, let alone even close to be signed

Not always the best indicator to be fair, it was only discovered months later that Barnett had signed and extension

Just trying to get a read on if the Beagles are actually capable of developing the next tier, it’s interesting to think Hutchinson went from country footy to AFL in about half a season. Where did he play in that time - with Collingwood ressies.
Yet we’ve had guys playing for a season or more with the Beagles who are still at best peripheral.

Or is it that Hutchinson is, coincidentally, just soooo much better than all those guys? Or it is a case that if you show faith in a player it can pay off?

(And he is getting a gig in the forward line where we’re hardly short of options.)

And does it just prove how far behind the Beagles are - at least compared with Collingwood’s reserves? (Which might have something to do with our relative ladder positions - maybe???)
