West Coast supporters/members, are you in or out?

In all seriousness, I have two questions.
Because of this latest happening:

First, how many of you WFC members will not be renewing your memberships next year?

Second, to WFC supporters, how many of you will be 'taking a backseat" approach (no pun intended) to supporting your club next season?

I am not trying to troll here, I am genuinely trying to find out how (if at all) this saga will effect or has effected the supporter base of WFC.

Are you serious? Why would anyone not renew over this?

So a high paid star footballer is using party drugs. Wow, what a revelation. How is this new? This has been happening in professional sport worldwide for the past 40-50 years.

Anyone who doesn't renew because of this is pretty weak.

What about this WC fans, will your decision be impacted if WC decide to not delist Cousins?

I was be severely disappointed if Cousins remains an Eagles player (in my view he has had too many chances already, yet continually chooses to laugh in the administration's faces, and simply must go for the sake of the club's reputation and standing), but I will be a West Coast Eagles supporter until the day I die.

Hope he still plays by some miracle, we need him to win a flag.

As a WCE fan I find this attitude totally misguided and short sighted. Yes we want to win flags but by taking the stand "it doesn't matter what players do off the field - lets turn a blind eye" a club actually opens themselves up to more failure as sponsors (the lifeblood of a club along with the supporters) will bail on a club with this attitude. No money means no more flags.

Also there is the whole role model issue. Lets not start a whole thread on should players be role models or not - the fact is they are and how do you explain to your 5 year old why you are sitting at a game screaming your lungs out in support of Cousins when he partakes in a drug culture you want to do everything in your power to keep you kid away from. Whether we like it or not a player's off field behaviour reflects on the club and his position as a role model.

It was just asking if the incident would affect you re-signing as a member. I was asking if WC didn't delist him if you'd still re-sign.

well yeah thats what i kinda thought was also being asked...but anyway...if any member hands in their membership just because west coast may not have handled it the way they wanted too and decide to "take a stand", they will regret it. with over 5000 people on the waiting list, and so many requests that they had to cap the amount on that list, the tickets wont last long and it won't make a difference to the club.

I honestly cant believe a true footy supporter would ask this question.

I mean next they will be jumping of *insert injunction club* because 30% of their side have apparently/allegedly tested positive for illicit drugs. Surely not?

;)

See, there's a difference.

Assault / Rape / Murder affect someone else. Using drugs only affects Ben.[/quote]

Now that's where you are wrong m8. If he is as high as a kite or on speed or under the influence of ecstasy or any drug for that matter & then he has the audacity to get behind the wheel of a car........ you mean to tell me that no-one else's life is in danger??????
That is where you are badly misguided & mistaken. What about the other people on the road, what about pedestrians walking across the road???
Drugs affects your reaction times behind the wheel ...... just the same as alcohol. it could be your family member, my family member ....anyones family member that could be involved with an imbecile that has the audacity to put anyones life in danger like that.

He bloody disgusts me. That guy has had chances handed to him on a platter. The WCE gave him a second chance & so did the AFL...... only for him to leave rehab in 2-3weeks (as if he was rehabilitated in that time)
and now sh*t in everyone elses face.......not to mention the hell he is putting his family through

Lets face it..... maybe he has had a hard time dealing with the loss of a m8..... but everyone goes through this.... it is what is called life & death.
I thought he would have had the balls (after what he went through the first time round) to say NO....... obviously not a man hey Benny !!!
:thumbsdown::thumbsdown::thumbsdown:

So drugs are cool?

What about assault?

Rape?

Murder?

Where do you draw the line? Seriously, that sort of attitude is what gives the club a bad name.
let him take drugz...as long as he dosnt rape/murder/assault my family(or anyon else for that matter) i dont give a damn S***.......he is a champion...a legend and our superstar...GO BENNY>>>>TILL DEATH WE SUPPORT YOU OUR HEROE:)
