I loved when they whinged about Garlett getting a free for a wack over the head, they replayed it which clearly showed it and the crowd whinged again. What is going on over there?

Most free kicks are awarded well before the crowd have a chance to react.
Even when that isn't the case, it's the umpires at fault. Not West Coast's or their fans. They are merely doing their best to support their side.

I actually feel embarrassed for the AFL and the West Coast supporters for having to put up with this rubbish whenever they get a home game. Surely the Eagles supporters who spend their cash to watch this game aren't impressed by the lack of respect shown to their team by the umps, who think without their help are no chance.
(This may be true, haven't seen an Eagles game in a while where they haven't gotten an armchair ride).

living in victoria i've been to games with one sided crowds my whole life, I can assure you that every victorian crowd will boo and go ferel over the most rediculus frees or non frees at every opportunity. Its just not as noticeable when they only play a good interstate team at home 1 or 2 times a year. Every eagles game i've been to in melbourne except the GFs i've had to put up with this crap.

Really not sure why football supporters refer to the free kick count when discussing the quality/fairness of the umpiring.
Surely people realise the count can be lopsided and still be well officiated whilst it can also be lopsided and mean one team got a dream run!!!!

Considering the ball was spoilt and cleared prior to any contact, they probably felt the contact was incidental to the contest. That is commonly let go in many marking contests. Like when a bloke puts a knee in the back of a players head.
Not true. Crowd is playing a massive role in the frees. Everyone sees it except the west coast supporters.... Understandable

Umpiring not too bad so far. 2 bad decisions going West Coasts way but a couple of 50/50's going Carltons way. Very little to complain about. Don't know why people are.
Another staging incident though. Good on the Umpires for seeing through it. Hopefully he gets a fine. Surely suspensions have to be considered at some point?

Let's face facts here. You would kill for fans 'feral' and loud enough (LMFAO at loud being a bad thing, btw) to influence the umps in your favour. The fact that other teams are unable to replicate what our crowd is able to accomplish when we play over in Melbourne is your problem.

The only problem I have is being unable to engage normally as an Eagles fan in a gameday thread due to the torrent of tears that comes with every single one of our games, hence, once in a while I'd love for some of you whingers to suck it up and talk more football, less umpiring.

Its called supporting your team. The only thing the crowd can influence is the umpires, you expect them to politely clap after the replay?
Thes umpires are idiots who are clearly influenced by the crowd, if the crowd boo the Garlett free - right or wrong - they will likely think to them selves that they got it wrong and may not pay the same next time.
