To say 2 decisions changed the game is crap the umpiring was bad all day costing goals both ways. The boys are very proud and should be after beating a team that has been in the last 5 grand finals back to back. A few postional changes and a little extra fitness in the last quarter got them over the line nothing else. On the the big decision the goal/point, wrong or right colts where still up by 2 kicks but seemed to drop there heads after that decision. Instead of taking chances like that had all day they looked like they tried to save the game and hold on which never works.

great win boys wish i had been there

yeh agree entirely, some good moves extra bit of run and also not much respect payed to players at important times

Word is on the street is that Colts will be doing a pre season this year before Christmas.
Both seniors and reserves having late game fade out potentially costing them 2 permierships.

Anyway unlucky Spotty undefeated all year in the 2's. Maybe you can borrow the 1's medal or you can swing past my house and look at mine!
Premiership celebration are still hurting me so I might just take some good hard rest.

momentum is a big thing in footy if that goal was paid i dont think spotty had a chance anyway whats done is done thats my opinion

i think theyd rather look at the 1s medals thats what its all about. speaking of fade outs your 1s had a nice end of season fade out or was that just planning for a 2s medal.

I'm dissapointed there has been a protest lodge, as i said in previous post i had a beer with o'keefe sunday nite and he himself said he went off in the wrong part of the ground. I personaly think it's a silly rule anyway and definately don't want spotty to loose or have to have a replay because of it. When the siren rang spotty were in front and won the game end of story.

Very unfortunate how the game finished but as a club you have to move on
parkside lost a grand final to hoppers crossing when a fifty meter penalty was awarded after the siren which put hoppers in front
Its was very hard to take after seeing the fifty given on tape which was clearly NOT a fifty
The talk of a protest i think is just tongue in cheek just move on guys & make sure it sticks in your minds come next year

I was at the game on sat if i played for spotty i wouldnt be too proud hanging that medal around my neck, 2 big game changing decisions with 5 min to go didn't deserve the win but thats footy. Need to rotate umps from different leagues for finals, to many umps with memories anyway that my opinion and for the so called brawl nothing in it couple of scratches, should learn to shut your mouth if you dont want trouble.

So if for argument's sake 15 or more of Buddy Franklin's goals came from free kicks that shouldn't have been paid, does that mean he shouldn't be proud of kicking the ton?

If that's footy and Spotty won the game, they are then proud owners of the premiership medal and cup.

The vfl players would say its all about their medal & the afl players would say its all about their medal , so going by what you think about lowergrade premierships wrfl 1s medal dont mean sh*.t . Or do they?

Congratulations Spotswood Football Club on the 2008 WRFL Premiership. Were great all year and are definatly worthy winners.

Good to see the Rock still laying the smackdown and whippin' candy ass.

Went past the Colts FC Tuesday and the boys still on Mad Monday. Top job fellas!

What year was that final?

2002 . the player should not have got the free kick in the 1st place . scores where level, the hoppers player sprayed his kick on the full then umpire paid a 50 . put him in the square siren blew and he kicked a goal. but then parkside bounced back the next year beating spotty in the 2003 grand final.

Thanks. Would that mean that all GFs since have been decided by under a couple of kicks? 2003 was a goal, what about 2004 2005 2006? I know the last couple have been 6(?) and 10 points.

2004 - hoppers by 6 pts
2005 - colts by 45 pts
2006 - colts by 2 pts

colts have just been beaten in all their 3 losing grand finals and 2005 was even at 3 qtr time

Grand Final Replay Request

1967 and Geelong are 2 points down at 3/4 time. A shot for goal in the final quarter by Geelong is marked behind (clearly) the goal line by Richmond Captain and full back Fred Swift. After much discussion between the Goal and Field umpire it is paid a mark. Geelong drop their heads, lose momentum, kick 2 goals 8 behinds for the quarter and lose by 9 points. To this day all of Geelong blame the 6 point non goal for their 9 point loss. You don't need am abacus to work out that one goal does not equal 9 points.

I want to see the game replayed. Swift will not mark behind the line as he was killed in a home invasion in 1983. Maybe Dick Clay can fill in at full back. Royce Hart will still be the best player out there (just ask him) and "Hungry Bartlett" might kick 7 as he did in 1980. Best of all though Polly Farmer will still handball 40m to Billy Goggin who will stab pass to the fast leading Doug Wade who will kick a goal with a flat punt.

Geelong get that extra goal but still lose by 3 points. See, I told you 6 points does not equal 9 points !!

Surely I digress, but the story does have a familiar ring about it. Point gets changed to a goal, 5 point swing, 5 does not equal 10, still lose by 5 points!!

Thats why people hate you Pr#%ks if your guys had gone through undefeated all year we would be hearing it all over the place.. our first didn't make thanks for stating the bleeding obvious but well done to the seconds coming from 3rd and beating a team who thought they had it in the bag before they even run on the ground... and the funniest thing was that all the other clubs that were there were barracking for us to win...Good On the Kanga's hope they have enjoyed their few days...

Interesting to read on page 102 of the Herald Sun that the WRFL is thinking of introducing an alcohol ban at all WRFL games next year as a result from Saturdays violence.

Hmmm.....something needs to be done, that's for sure.

But banning alcohol and expecting; a - Clubs to be competative against each other (already lopsided as it is) and b - Clubs to continue to fork out upwards of $18k in management fees ????? Where do they think they money comes from ?

Would the clubs have to vote on this? If so would never get through.

Sounds like a good idea in theory but clubs are not in a position to police supporters bringing in their own alcohol. All this would do is move the revenue from the clubs to bottle shops and pubs. It will not have any effect on spectator behaviour.

with the number of clubs who have slowly disappeared over the years (this obviously having nothing to do with the leagues not for profit policy), if this new policy gets thru, dont be surprised to see a few clubs take on the ammos and leave the league with the scenario of having a possible 7 or 8 team, 2 division league, instead of bleeding the clubs dry for every little bit they can get try doing somethig positive for the clubs, eg. investgiate the possiblilty of having admittance charges, (oh they would have some sort of levy on that too), not have us pay for some other accreditation they get more kickbacks for, GET YA HEAD OUT THE SAND AND START THINKING OF THE CLUBS WHO PAY YOUR WAGES, NO CLUBS, NO JOB, COZ THATS WHERE ITS HEADING!!!

so in your opinion what was?

imo frustrated tryhard mobsters angry that there side failed again

Your a fool, we didn't fail. It may show we lost on the scoreboard, but fail we didn't.
As for the gangster comment, 2 of the people that run over at the spectator i argued with were from other wrfl clubs and 1 has nothing to do with the colts.
So myself or the club have no responsabilty for them or their actions.

Just an observation, had passion and emotion not got the better of you Rock and you had not gone to discuss the finer points of ball trajectory with the umps, do you think there would have still been the minor incident after the game?
This is just a question, because i actually enjoyed the game, thought the second half was some pretty good footy to watch.
Great way to spend a saturday, few quiet cans, watching some local footy with all the theatre that goes with the passion of the supporters, and when the scuffles did eventuate, how quickly the micky mouse security guards did the bolt!

What about if the person from the crowd did not yell obscenities at me or if the field umpire didn't force the goal umpire to change his mind?????
All alot of what ifs but at the end of the day i was not violent towards anyone, so i feel i should not be held resposable for hit.
JUST FOR THE RECORD I HAVE BEEN CHARGED FOR MISCONDUCT.
Very shattered and dissapointed, not sure how the tribunal will look at this but maybe the playing and coaching career is GONE!!!!!
