You mean blue like cronulla sharks, canterbury bulldogs, titans, roosters?

Of those only Canterbury is in Western Sydney, and it would be easy enough to avoid comparison with them (and North Melbourne) by choosing a different blue. Someone had powder blue based on the North Carolina kit or something, and I thought that looked really distinct. There is a problem with too many clubs having blue in their strip, but as long as the GWS colours are immediately identifiable that's all they have to worry about.

I get your point, and there IS a strong case for using blue. But I don't think the ARL's colours are such a problem (see swans/dragons).

Your point is a good one, but I think just choosing whatever colour isn't being used for the sake of it would be really damaging for GWS. I also think the Sydney Swans aren't a good place to look for how to get this team up and going, they're basically a transplanted team and I think that's part of the reason why they've taken so long to get a foothold in Sydney.

The prospective Western Sydney fans need to be catered too in every way possible, and a huge part of that will be to get a kit and a nickname they'll be proud to identify with.

I think it is very important to avoid ARL nicknames though. I've tried a blue version anyway but the orange would be my favorite.

Those look alright I reckon. Have you tried maybe blue with Orange trim? Have it looking like it may be a grey wolf at dusk?

NOt bad designs - but I'm not sure if having a V sends the right signal!!

The problem with the design is it doesn't really work with a bar (see below).

I can see your point about a V (with the relationship to Victoria) but V's are common place in NSW (several NRL teams have them, either current or heritage) so it really would not send the wrong signal at all.

The double blue and gold is a great idea. It keeps the NSW colours and adds something a bit different and new. Why didn't I think of that:confused:. If Gold Coast are crazy enough to pass up gold then WS might as well use it.
I think the trick with gold is to use it sparingly, just as trim around collar/cuffs or as an outline around the logo. That sort of thing.

OK I promise to stop posting this design but just had to try one more with craegus's colour combo. It works pretty well I reckon.
And in reply to LeeARM, yes I did. Good ol Adobe Illustrator.

Looks good, could you try two things though. 1) Make the eye of the wolf on the home dark blue, and 2) try a dark blue wolf on the clash.

I reckon that looks fantastic.:thumbsu:

That wolf will never work for a team that is trying to be family-centric. You don't want a logo that is actively scary, which I think this spate of wolves have been.

I liked the Light Blue/Royal Blue + Light Gold motif, as well as Green and Black. Realistically for the people who are questioning whether or not the colours are too close to another team's, how many colours do you think there are to use?

Wolves are no more frightening than Tigers, Lions or Dockers.

I would like to say every design I have seen is very, very good. But I like a couple of the first designs on this thread and I like the name: West Sydney Wolves.

-- Can someone tell me how to make them like you guys have, thanks --

The problem with yout design is that it relies on the logo as the focus.

You haven;t come up with a logo and used the one in the NBA with some colour changes.

Also, its not possible for anything nnot illuminated to have that colour blue.

Don't mean to sound discouraging, but there are issues with your design.

Don't care. It was only my THIRD jumper I have made!
