Toast What a year!

#portforpremiersin2015!

Love the never say die attitude. Some teams would have rolled over at almost 30 points down, but not us. We fought it out to the bitter end. And boy is it bitter at the moment. Think my breathing might return to a normal speed soon.

#NTUA!

At the beginning of 2014 Super Footy conducted a poll among the so called Melbourne based experts and only 2 of 18 had Port in the eight!!!!!!!!!!! To be honest I have never heard of many of these people but names like Sheehan, Robinson, King, Brereton and Crawford all had us outside of the eight.

This year all these 'experts' will have suddenly discovered Port Adelaide and jumped on our bandwagon. Maybe I am hard to please but sometimes I do not know if I want these parsnips with us or against us because as quick as they are to praise us so they are quick to put us down when the smallest thing goes awry.

It is nice to know we stuck it up so many of the Melbourne media.

Bad luck guys.

You have had a fantastic year and your team plays a very entertaining and enjoyable style of football that I very much enjoy watching.

I know that you will be bitterly disappointed as you have gone agonisingly close to making the GF.

You have a team who's core is young and very talented which is going to take you a long way for several years.

You have much to look forward to in the future.

Well Done in 2014. :thumbsu:

I'm proud of the effort of the boys to improve again this year after what was a huge improvement in 2013.

However, third is not good enough.

they just dont see us and pay no attention to how good we really are, just like they have no idea how good gray has been this season, some are surprised how well he has played in the finals but he has done it all year.

You guys should be heaps proud, i'm sure you are. That was an great game of footy. I know it hurts, but you lost no friends today.
Well I did, I deleted 4-5 dickhead Crow supporters on FB who were nowhere as nice with their comments as you were so thanks for not being a dick when it could've been an easy opportunity for you to do so.

As Timmy G said after the game, the future is a mystery, the past is history, the present is a gift and you have to make the most of it.

Just have to saddle up and go again.

We have the best coach and management team we could have. Let's go again.

Like many of you, I sat through long, cold winters at AAMI Stadium, one of the measly 13,000 people who bothered to show at every home game. I felt the bitter disappointment, both in our club and in those supporters who weren't turning up or keeping the faith. I endured the often nasty, personal ribbing from the media and Crows supporters who were having a field day at our expense - even to the point of having my team stickers ripped off my car.

This season, I have been one of 50,000 at home games. A vocal, passionate 50,000. I have proudly led others to put their money where their mouth is and sign up to our Club. I have watched our Club go from a laughing stock to reclaiming our rightful place as one whose tradition is the envy of all others. I have witnessed our team come together and play as one...and they held up their end of the bargain: they never, ever gave up.

Am I disappointed about today? No way. Because I have seen our Club at it's worst and today was far from that. Third best for the season, one game better than last year. I am holding my head high because I am proud to support this Club.

We will be there again next year. In the meantime, I have a game to go to tomorrow. Another Port team and hopefully another cup for our cabinet. Because We Are Port Adelaide.

Never Tear Us Apart.

Just a reminder I'm hurting as much as anyone else but try and keep this thread on the positive side and reflect on the positives from this year.
theres plenty of positives, it goes without saying really, but we cant just backslap while we wasted a year, its port adelaide, they dont accept losing.

its total nonsense, simple. its not a point of going hard in round 12 will bugger you for round 21, thats nonesense, every game is a new challenge. every game you prepare for the contest. we have the best bloke in the business in burgess in preparing a side and that isnt the issue.

Yes...total nonsense...yes...young players can go full bore all season, they don't need managing, because it is nonsense

Enjoyed the ride this year, confident for whats to come in the next few years. We're building a professional outfit that will be hurting after the game, this will burn in the players guts and we'll come back again next year, determined to go that 1 better. Just a couple of pieces missing to the premiership puzzle, one has been injured all year (Redden)

Damn I miss footy already :(

Cant expect anything next year, as the crows after 2012 have shown. Work harder, play harder, train harder and make sure next year we make history

Congratulations on another great year by your team. There is still so much up side for your squad going forward.

Massive respect to you blokes. It felt like I was at the Adelaide Oval pre game. I know how bad you will be feeling after tonight, just as we were in 2011, but this will spurr you on to bigger and better things in the coming years. Congratulations

**** the crows Macca. Nobody thought we could back up last year, we not only did that we went better. If not for that slump who knows how far we could have gone.

These guys don't need to be told to work harder, play harder, train harder ... they will do it. Ken demands nothing less and just as importantly they expect it of themselves.

We aren't the Crows. They rode their way on an easy draw to a prelim. We worked our arses off. We backed last year up with this year and we will be right up there next year. Bookmark it.

You can't kick 16 points and expect to win.
Hawthorn worthy winners but won't stand a chance against the COLA Swans next week.

Look.

We could go winless for the next couple of decades and I wouldn't trade this club and the people who love it for the world.
