When GC17 comes in, whats the plan when it comes to the obvious Bye that will have to happen.

Everyone will get one, but what happens with the remaining 5 rounds? Are we gonna have to see multiple teams with byes some weeks, meaning less footy? Thatd be shit...

i was thinking that too. I always thought they should introduce two together or no new team at all. I suppose they will get rid of the normal season bye but they will have to organise it so that each team has the same amount which might be abit hard considering 22 rounds and what will be 17 teams! who knows...
they will have to come up with something, maybe make the season longer. i always hate it when footy season is over nothing to watch on the weekend.

Obviously there are going to be weeks with at least 3 teams getting the bye, but the number of byes that each team has won't be any different to this season. There will just be more rounds of footy.

Bringing in 2 teams at once is ridiculous - it's hard enough to get 1 team to find enough players to be competitive. It would be impossible if they had to compete with another new team trying to do the same thing.

It's not hard to work out. There will be 11 games more footy over 24 rounds.
They can have a similar set up to now - 8 games most weeks, then mid season have one or two rounds round with 4 or so matches.

Get your head out of Sydney Harbour Bridge I know lets get Sydney out of the AFL then that will solve our problem with the bye:D

Because of course SYDNEY is the city in which there needs to be less teams...

Then go for a merge + new team.

Melbourne Saints anyone?

No?

North Melbourne Bulldogs?

Not sure what they'll do re draw but you can rest assured the AFL will leave no stone unturned, no benefit unprovided, to ensure GC win a flag - just as they did for Sydney and Brisbane.

  1. Adelaide bye
  2. Brisbane bye
  3. Carlton bye
  4. Collingwood bye
  5. Essendon bye
  6. Fremantle bye
  7. GC17 bye
  8. Geelong bye
  9. Hawthorn bye
  10. Melbourne bye
  11. North Melbourne bye
  12. Port Adelaide bye
  13. Richmond bye
  14. St Kilda bye
  15. Sydney bye
  16. West Coast bye
  17. Western Bulldogs, Adelaide, Brisbane bye
  18. Carlton, Collingwood, Essendon bye
  19. Fremantle, GC17, Geelong bye
  20. Hawthorn, Melbourne, North Melbourne bye
  21. Port Adelaide, Richmond, St Kilda bye
  22. Sydney, West Coast, Western Bulldogs bye
That's 2 byes each in 22 rounds.

  1. Adelaide bye
  2. Brisbane bye
  3. Carlton bye
  4. Collingwood bye
  5. Essendon bye
  6. Fremantle bye
  7. GC17 bye
  8. Geelong bye
  9. Hawthorn bye
  10. Melbourne bye
  11. North Melbourne bye
  12. Port Adelaide bye
  13. Richmond bye
  14. St Kilda bye
  15. Sydney bye
  16. West Coast bye
  17. Western Bulldogs bye
  18. Adelaide bye
  19. Brisbane bye
  20. Carlton, Collingwood, Essendon bye
  21. Fremantle, GC17, Geelong bye
  22. Hawthorn, Melbourne, North Melbourne bye
  23. Port Adelaide, Richmond, St Kilda bye
  24. Sydney, West Coast, Western Bulldogs bye
24 rounds, 2 byes each.

The second option is probably better, as each team plays 6 other teams twice, rather than 4.
