1) Nobody has provided a quote where Voss has said the 2 players plus a first round pick price. It is mere speculation started by Andrew Hamilton, who is a poor journo.

2) Brisbane is obviously going to start negotiations at a price that is greater than Clark's value.

3) Brisbane knows that due to the compromised draft Fremantle only have pick 16 or the Palmer compensation end of first round pick on the table, as opposed to Pick 6-8 in a normal draft so creative options may be required.

How much would a club be prepared to give up for a back-up ruckman/average forward?

I'd part with Carlton's 2nd round pick even though we have no real use for him.
WOW - no need for even an 'average' tall forward?

Keep kicking it to eddie, clown.

Or waite, who always injured lately

Or kruezer who would be top 4 ruckmen in league - yeah, stick him forward

Or setanta

Or stick hendo forward after being your best backman.

Is clark better than any of these?

Going anywhere i would say a first round pick, but to Freo and uncontracted a late first round pick or a 2nd round pick and a fringe player.

Anyone know why he specifically asked to be traded to freo? he's not going to replace sandilands and has to compete with zac clark + griffin. Did freo offer him heaps of $ ?

Headland played one good season and cost picks 3 & 19 + Adam Mcphee, so that answers what Freo might be willing to pay... :)

He's 'worth' pick 15-20, IMO. Assuming he's set on returning to WA rather than specifically leaving the Lions then he's really worth whatever Freo are willing to pay, or he'll end up elsewhere in the PSD.

I imagine we'll see Freo's first round pick plus either a pick upgrade or a fringe player (Johnson, Bradley, Crowley, Griffin etc).
Wouldn't mind us making a cheeky bid if talks with Freo stalled. Clark as a replacement for Lynch and/or competitor for backup duties with Lycett after Cox's retirement would be nice.
That said I don't think we have much that Brisbane would want that we would be willing to give away, and i think we have more pressing recruitment concerns.

Top ten pick, showed in 2009 what he's capable of when he plays full time in the ruck.

Yeah well he won't be playing full time ruck at Freo that's for sure.

I really hope Freo give up heaps for him. Will be a return to the good old days of taking the piss out of Freo's terrible recruiting decisions.

Massively overrated player.

Problem is he is going to a 2 team town so there isn't much bargaining power with Brisbane. Freo's 1st round pick is what they'll get and that's about right.

I don't think Freo should have to give up their first round pick.

I think they would rather just let Brissy drop him to the PSD or give him to GWS for compo.

You can't and shouldn't be forced to hand over a top pick because a good player wants to come home. That makes no sense at all.
