97 by a mile....

Pressure got to the players and poor coaching under pressure. A little composure all round and we win that game.

Why 97 is worst than the others is that I strongly believe we would have gone into the game against the Saints as 50/50. Grudging by the saints second half against the Crows, I believe we likely would have won.

Still not over it!!!

2009 preliminary final against Saint straight halftime a free kick against Brain Lake change the game. Also 1992 our preliminary final against cats in we where on top in the first half with Charles,Del're on top in forward

97 no argument

We had the game and choked both players and coach.

98 was without doubt one of the worst coaching displays I've ever seen we were beaten before the game started with TV Terry spending all week trying to ignore the heart ache of 97.
Yep when I saw Rohan Smith line up against Robran I choked on my hot dog WTF.....and from memory Wynd went to a forward pocket....for Wallace to take injured players into a final was fn stupid....especially given he came from such an experienced finals side....and the '97 prelim I still cry in my weeties...no doubt we would have gone on to win the big one...

How do you guys remember these games so well? As soon as we lose I do everything I can to put it out of my mind. The only thing I remember about the St Kilda Prelim (the one that hurt me) was Riewoldt taking a dive.

I also remember the Cats Prelim against us when they really only pushed away late in the game, yet their fans were so smug about the whole thing. They got what they deserved the week after.

Not another bloody prelim thread..

Every single one I've been alive to see was painful enough without having to revisit them every year with another thread about it
