Snuck that one in..??Haha how much time do you have, Give it a rest mate you have proven your point!!

What did Yabby Jeans say “there are plenty of myths in football, but Dermott Brereton is not a myth!”
As high a praise as you can get.

The same Jeans who sent out fellow copper O'Dea with instructions to stop John Greening, and nearly destroyed Greening's life. Or do you mean the Jeans who defended Kevin Neale when he belted Stephen Boyle so hard he permanently blinded him in one eye. Or the Jeans who angrily defended Matthews on WoS after he belted Bruns?

For a supposed "honest" cop, Yabby Jeans had no issue with his charges inflicting life-changing injuries on opponents, and then covering for them.

To be fair to Freshwater, he never accused Jeans of being honest. I might have misled you because, in retrospect, I omitted the crucial third 'ullo. I should have written "'Ullo, 'ullo ‘ullo", mea culpa

Gee, you snuck that one in, Bro_Pro, where should the conversation go ? This is about character. The Club is no longer the domain of knuckle draggers, committee members shouting the bar with club funds, Club Secretaries keeping cash in their own safes, club captains holding regular bookings at local motels. Character is as important as football ability, even at our Club.
What are you talking about? What does any of this have to do with Bailey Smith?

Dermott doesn’t like the way Bailey Smith carries himself but shoots about 750L of jizz whenever he commentates a GWS game cos of the ‘attitude’ Toby Greene shows.

Maybe Baz should have taken some crutches on the field and belted Ziebell (and then an innocent security guard) with them. That’s all G in Dermott’s book.

The cheap shot wasn't in the marking contest. It was a few minutes earlier when Jack tried to send Bruce into the underground car park.
Assuming you mean the tackle Ziebell laid with approx 7.03 on the clock? I'd hardly call that a cheap shot, it was a strong tackle but nothing malicious at all.

There may have been something said between Ziebell and Bruce/Smith but no need to pretend the tackle was something it wasn't.

Just listened to the Bob Murphy and Easton Wood podcast with Stef Martin from the Dogs website.

What a great pod.

Usually not a fan of Bob's commentary, but this is a great listen.

F*** Zieball, i've never forgotten his cheap shot on Cloke years ago. Got him square in the chest while he was kicking and unable to protect himself. Hope Tex kicks 10 and tells him about it this weekend

That was round 4 2017. Instead of laying a tackle or attempting to smother the kick, which he totally could have, he decides to break Cloke's ribs, basically ending his career with us. It ended up costing north the game, the ball went straight to libba for a goal. We won by 3, and at that time we were down by 10 with 5 or 6 minutes to go. Sums up jack ziebell.

David King was lavishing praise on Libba on 360 last night, came up with the stat that he is #2 in the league for starting scoring chains (behind only NicNat).

Reckons he's potentially the first ever father/son Brownlow medallist on current form and bemoaned how underrated he has been for years.

Great to see Libba get some long overdue media recognition.

Yeah you are right, Jeans wasn’t a good man. But statement about Derm still holds true. And shows that Derm didn’t go down Mathews path, even with a mentor and father figure for him like Alan Jeans.

even greater to see him acknowledged for his footballing ability than his aggression or toughness. Absences through Injuries don’t help his profile.

Just chiming in here but wondering if any of the Bailey Smith talk is due to the way he got into Ziebell after the last Bruce mark? I was behind the goal and I must admit it wasn't necessary and not a great look from Bailey. He needs to learn to channel his aggression in better ways, and getting into the opposition captain when you are 120 pts up is not one of them (and a total waste of time and energy).

Libba is one of the main reasons I go to games now.

To watch him live and to see him carry out his craft is a pleasure.

Love him he is a GUN!

Libba would be so so deserving of a Brownlow, think it’ll be too hard in our squad though. Umps just won’t notice him over the more eye catching players. He’s as important if not more than every single one of them though. Gun.

Can’t help but think Dermott had an ulterior motive behind his comments As he is an unofficial spokesperson for the Hawks.

Honestly - I reckon if it was a Hawks player or a Richmond, Carlton, Collingwood player he would not give a toss.
But the Bulldog players are not supposed to be arrogant and look down on our opposition - we are supposed to be the underdogs - scragging for a win and fighting for survival. We are not supposed to crush clubs by 20 goals.

The hypocrisy of Derm's comment is clear to anyone who remembers the way he used to talk about the Giants in the early days (when he was also doing some coaching work with them). He used to love the arrogance that they displayed as teenagers getting in the face of older players, even when they were getting pumped most weeks. He would wank on about it endlessly, even when some of the stuff they were doing was clearly crossing the line.

He has overstepped massively here, and the fact that he has dragged mental health into a conversation where it has absolutely no relevance shows how clueless he is on the matter. I think Derm needs to think a little harder and take a look in the mirror before taking potshots again.

For those who haven't listened can heartily second this.

I think there have been times when the podcast has fallen flat in recent years but it is not the case this year.

Bob and Easton have mega chemistry and very good to listen to. They also seem to be picking the right players as guests (Libba, Duryea and Martin) rather than trying to get a square peg in a round hole.
