At the time, the juxtaposition of a typically blue collar retort in Latin amused me. I may think better of it tomorrow (which may of course never come). I hope we can be friends.

Sixty years ago this year I made the almost fatal mistake of saying "Michaela" instead of "Michaeli" when reciting my Latin prayers to become an altar boy. Sister Ambrose almost had a stroke claiming that I had turned St Michael the Archangel, a most masculine man of God, into a woman. Mea culpa.

I had the option of studying Latin at school but regrettably opted not to. Now I have to use to Google translate...with all its faults and mine...the results can be unpredictable
