I've had enough of all of these kents already.

Nothing would satisfy me more right now than drafting H.Reid and watch him kick a bag against the tin-rattlers.

And anyone else wanting to entertain splitting the pick in this massively compromised draft needs to give themselves an uppercut as well.

SANDERS NO DONE DEAL FOR ROOS
North Melbourne has made a submission to the AFL for draft assistance, but rival clubs remain hopeful that the Kangaroos won’t get their wish of gaining priority access to Ryley Sanders.
It is understood multiple clubs have made formal submissions to the league to express their concerns over the Sanders situation.
The Kangaroos have applied to have Sanders included in their Next Generation Academy as a Tasmanian product with Indigenous heritage.
However, even if Sanders was to be ticked off as an NGA prospect, the league would have to bend its rules to allow North Melbourne to match a certain top-10 bid on the star midfielder.
Under standard rules, Victorian clubs are unable to match bids on NGA players within the first 40 selections in the draft.
Questions have been raised over why Sanders did not train with North Melbourne during pre-season as part of the AFL Academy program.
He instead joined Tasmanian teammates Colby McKercher and Jack Callinan for a week at Collingwood.
Sanders won the Larke Medal as the best player of the under-18 national championships, averaging 35.8 disposals and five clearances across four matches for the Allies.
The AFL Commission will consider North Melbourne’s submission for draft assistance in Grand Final week.

Twomey on Gettable made it sound like it's quite unlikely. Said something about pre lising a player for next year might be on the cards instead

After we take Harley Reid with Pick 1, hopefully 2 as we bid on Walter with 1.

The day after the draft we get Eagles legend Peter Matera who is living in Echuca to drive to Tongala to visit his family and present his jumper to him. From one eagles legend to a future one.

There's something about a pick 2 wearing the #9 that excites me. Can't put my finger on it 😉

Doesn't the number one pick get a bunch of money from nab and some other stuff? (As well as being generally prestigious) There is a reason bids didn't come for Daicos and Ashcroft at 1 - I think bidding on Walter would just look vindictive and a little rude to Harley. Assuming we don't get their pick either way, what do we care if Gold Coast have to pay a few hundred less points?
No chance we bid unless it’s an under the table part of the trade for pick 4. We have a good relationship with GC so bidding just to shaft them isn’t something we’d do (unless we really want Walter of course).

To give perspective on what's available if we trade back, based on Twomeys rankings, taking out the Academy/FS picks, this is what we're looking at

6Nate Caddy
7Connor O'Sullivan
8Ollie Murphy
9Caleb Windsor
10Darcy Wilson
11James Leake
12Riley Hardeman
13Koltyn Tholstrup
14Harry Demattia
15Archer Reid
16Archie Roberts
17Will Green
18Lance Collard
19Tew Jiath
20Charlie Edwards
Yuck

If we commit to taking Reid, there’s no way we bid on Walter. Surely someone with Reid’s personality won’t like that, almost be offended. Ain’t nobody dishing out that many fend offs will like being the 2nd dog

Same. I wouldn't be bidding on Walter (even though it's 100% GC will match). I would have bid on Daicos a few years back. But Harley is #1 and looks like he'll take it in his stride.

I 100% would bid on Walter if Gold Coast refuse to trade us pick 4 (or 10 once they get it).

If we don't, then we are pushovers like the tin-rattlers.

Only reason N.Daicos went at pick 4 was because North wanted five more seconds in front of the camera to rattle the tin again.

GWS received pick 2 from Collingwood on the agreement that they wouldn't place a bid.

GWS bid on Sam Darcy, took F.Callaghan at 3, and left it to Gold Coast for a bid on N.Daicos, forcing Collingwood to match at 4.

Considering he talked openly about wanting to go at pick 1 before the draft, going at pick 4 hasn't held N.Daicos back by any means.

We won't get Walter.

He is already training in the Suns gym.

If Walter was the best prospect like daicos then sure, but Walter doesn't deserve to be called before reid.

Can't get behind the narrative that we should bid on him.

Listen to the latest Gettables episode

The tone has definitely changed from Twomey regarding where Reid will end up, get the feeling he now knows it’s likely West Coast.

He did mention if North get 3 for McKay, could they split that for GWS’s 2 firsts and come to West Coast with 2 and 6 for 1, I’d still say no to that personally, would want another pick.

Also, McKercher was on and he’s incredibly well spoken, probably my favourite draftee interview wise.

I'd do 1 & 19 for 2, 6 & Ports 1st.
