That's very even. Contrary to the narrative that now appears to have taken hold, the Swans' midfield were not beaten up physically by their Lions counterparts.


Yet, obviously, this still was the outcome:

What happened was Sydney's pinpoint offensive gameplan imploded against the pressure from Brisbane, without a Plan B in sight. All the while Swans players at both ends of the ground were completely beaten and allowed their opponents to present as spares into the midfield, giving the Lions complete domination of the outside game, particularly from turnover.

Ch.Warner in what has been regarded as a very average performance from him still gained over 650 metres in this year's Grand Final, more than anyone else on ground.

He's a very good player, and without question would make West Coast a much stronger team if he were to join them.

Unless our offer is crazy better than Freo's he'd be heading there if he decides to leave imo.

Is the salary cap getting a massive bump up next year? Surely the only way Freo can get Warner is if both Fyfe and Walters retire to clear their money from the cap because they already got a few 900/Mill+ contracts as it is AND they haven't even re-signed Brayshaw yet who's contract expires next year.

Reid has been spoonfed everything since he came to WA. From fame to endorsements, interviews and merchandise. If the lifestyle/career over here isn't for him then there's really not much we or the club can do about it, they've done about everything else already.

Lets just enjoy watching a player of his calibre running out in our colours.

Just because Warner makes us stronger (no argument) doesn't mean we should be once again selling the farm to obtain him. There's too many knocks on his game.

If you sell the farm like we'll be doing, it needs to be a guaranteed, bonafide A grade player, which I argue Warner isn't.

Call me still burnt with Kelly, but the whole thing reeks of a bad idea and mistake we've already made once before to me. Bizarre that so many people have already forgotten this.

I liken the unlimited Geelong salary cap to that ad from years ago. The one with the never emptying packet of Tim Tams.

No, that is my point.

Hipwood is shit and yet would still improve our team marginally. So saying "Warner will improve our team" doesn't mean a great deal IMO, it's a pretty low bar.

Hipwood randomly being on our list could free up Allen to defense rather than Bazzo, hypothetical example.

Does Hipwood/Allen/Waterman in our B22 look better than Bazzo/Allen/Waterman? Probably.
