I've had enough of all of these kents already.

Nothing would satisfy me more right now than drafting H.Reid and watch him kick a bag against the tin-rattlers.

And anyone else wanting to entertain splitting the pick in this massively compromised draft needs to give themselves an uppercut as well.

I now view Curtin in the same like as I see Watson.

Both are risky picks. Although funny enough I have more assurance Watson will succeed as a forward pocket then Curtin as a third tall

Both have the potential to call flat on their faces (Brander style)

If you wouldn't pick Watson at number 2,3,4,5 you wouldn't pick Curtin at number 2,3,4,
I might be wrong but I don’t believe Brander was getting 20 odd disposals and impacting as much as Curtin is in the seniors in his draft year?

IIRC Brander was somewhat unsettled at the U18 champs and had one good game early down back and was otherwise inconspicuous in the Champs. I don't exactly recall his form in any state league.

I don't see Curtin as a risky pick. He just doesn't look like a top 5 type of player. He looks like a very good player who should have a very good AFL career though.

Quite remarkable we got it done with only two picks higher than 11 (albeit Gaff, Naitanui and Sheppard all went top 10).

Is Reid a similar player to JHF? Watching Reid's highlights he seems to have some of the same attributes to JHF. Strong mark, strong body, not lightning quick but quick enough to get out of trouble, good at the contest etc

I've still not heard anything at all to suggest Reid has told clubs or anyone he doesn't want to leave Vic, have only heard the opposite that he'll go wherever.

Reid preferring to stay in Vic is not the same as Reid doesn't want to leave Vic.

Well it's the same bloke that's claiming he's '80%' likely going to the Roos who also quoted a 'reputable' poster about Reid who has been historically wrong with every prediction...

People put too much emphasis on wording. For mine I would completely expect any kid in the draft to prefer to stay home but a preference is not an absolute.

Boys were making a hell of a lot more noise last year about not wanting to leave Victoria and for a longer period of time.

One of the YouTube segments the club put out recently posed that Q to Will Schoefield - and he reiterated exactly that: sure his preference as an 18yo would have been to stay in VIC, but it wasn't a barrier to him embracing moving to WA.
