Has anyone seen the draw for 2009? A heap of night games being proposed - it's not final yet but Drummy and the boys are persisting with the night games
Eg. Anzac Day has three night games...

Why not, we whinge when they are not trying anything different. Good spectacle for the pundits, arguably the best games of last year were played under lights. Prelim and Second Semi were great spectacles.

derrick filo had a very long detailed chat 2nite to bendigo pioneer/bomber and swan hill footballer, grant ford. he is very keen on getting him for season 2009, just not sure if the feeling is mutual..

I think you will find that Derrick Filo is doing his job as coach and is speaking to alot of players to play for the Borough in 2009.

I understood he was contracted to the bendigo bombers and swan hill,
not interested in minor league Bendigo football.
that contract with the bombers runs out after xmas or before it, it was a preseaon contract... shit idea from bombers... an was never contracted to swan hill... as he lives in bendigo an has a full time job here...I understood he was contracted to the bendigo bombers and swan hill,

Mark Fitzgerald is back at the Dragons. Stagg is back in full swing. A few senior players from 07 returning, so expect Hurst to be far more competitive in 09.
Comer is definately not playing in LVFL next year, but that's all I know so far. Might not play at all.

GOLDEN Square has re-signed reigning best and fairest Leigh Davies for the 2009 Bendigo Bank Bendigo Football-Netball League season.
Davies had been the target of Heathcote District Football League club Mount Pleasant, with the Blues making a lucrative play at the versatile big man that included the offer of assistant coach to Shane Davis.
But Golden Square coach Mark Adamson confirmed yesterday Davies would remain with the Bulldogs next year.
Meanwhile, Golden Square has won the race to sign gun Goulburn Valley Football League midfielder Nathan Bell from the Shepparton Swans.
Bell, who polled 15 votes in the GVFL Morrison Medal this year, was pursued by a number of Bendigo-based clubs.
The Bulldogs, who have been training for the past two weeks, have also signed Nathalia’s Jason Limbrick. “Jason kicked nearly 50 goals this year playing part of the season at full-forward, but he can certainly play centre half-forward, centre half-back and in the ruck, so he has a few strings to his bow,” Adamson said.
And Clayton Anderson, who spent this year playing with Lavington in the Ovens and Murray Football League, will return to Wade Street in 2009.
“Clayton is as tough as nails and gives us another dimension,” Adamson said. “With Clayton having had a year of O and M footy under his belt this year, he’s going to come back a better player.”
Golden Square will open its 2009 season with a grand final rematch against Eaglehawk at Canterbury Park on April 4.

Quite amusing that he actually signed with Mounts Friday lunchtime.
You may just find a retraction of that story in tomorrows Addy. Maybe next time it would pay to speak to the person concerned to get the facts straight before running a back page article on him, rather than just taking Adamson's word!

mark adamson is the type of bloke who doesn't play any games when it comes to this sort of stuff. if he said davies was staying, i respect adamson enough to take his word for it.

The big news out of this article in their recruit Nathan Bell.
If this bloke plays a full season you will have next years league medalist.
The boy can play. Had it not been for 2 injury interupted seasons he would have won the GV medal twice!
Singh to Eaglehawk is official. I have no doubt he will kick somewhere around the 100 goal mark in the Bendigo league but you will find the majority of these will come against the weaker sides. One thing he will not do which Gretix was able to is perform in finals and big occasion games.
Unless he gets paid during the finals he doesnt even get out of bed.
