There has only been one "supporter" (non member) that has whinged and bagged the Bendigo League.

My take on it :

The majority of players want to stay

The majority of supporters want to go

My feeling is we will stay.

Players shouldnt have the final say.........they are all professional footballers and the club is there employer....if the committee thinks it a good idea ..and the supporters who finance the club think its a good idea, then the mercenaries who are over paid for there insipid performances, should concentrate on football and leave the clubs politics to those in the know. And its a concern and indicitive of the club when the coach and senior players have there own interests at heart by wanting to stay in Bendigo as there is no way Ty could coach in the Ballarat, if fact from what Ive seen he shouldnt be coaching in Bendigo either. Concentrate on what your paid for and try and gain some respect by making Gisborne competitive again. And also to the players....if you vote this down next week.......play for nothing....as the money saved ($40000) per season is the responsibility of you to raise to ensure the club survives.......also get of your arses and get on the committee and help poor old Lovey out. Its fine putting your hand out for money each week and feeling proud of only kicking 3 goals total in a final, do the right thing if you want the money help the club raise it

Who are these mercenaries?? Can you name the ones at the club at the moment who are taking the club for a ride and just playing for money??

Dont you think the money that will be saved will need to be spent on more players to be competitive with the top 4 in Balfl?? so the saving doenst really seem to be a saving!

And if you think things need to be down at Gisborne Paul why dont you get of your fat arse from Sunbury and help out instead of feeling like a big man typing this S**t.

You havent been involved in the club in a long time but you quite happy to seat in your arm chair and pot Gisborne and Kyneton for that matter but you yourself wont help out.... just stick to the Sunbury 2's!!!

You are very quick to forget about past achievements.. Gisborne have a few bad games and you turn like a wild dog.. dont forgot they have still made finals while spending probably half of the top 5 budgets on players.
so to your so called mercenaries call i think that is out of line!

3 goals in a final........thats insipid!!!

Money saved should be spent on facilities...not players.......and if they stay in the BFL then that money they have thrown away by electing to stay in Bendigo has to raised to even maintain the costings of Bendigo football..Enough quality juniors comming through........Gis have always recruited form the Rookies...so no need to buy

work around the club.....mmmmmmmmmmm let me see, Im sure every beer you have at the footy comes from the coolroom I donate every week, spit roast machine I donate through out the year.......Sun vGis practice match I organize every year..........for a non member I recon I do enough.as for the lights you enjoy, room for free.......recon I organized them as well.......sponsorship.....yep involved to. Hang on.what about the shower room at Gis renovated for free. Coaches boxes...I brought and installed. Now u smart ass..u named me.....put your name and credentials to something and dont hide behind an alias.

Mercenary call may have been a bit harsh.I agree.I just wonder how many Gis players would play for nothing if the club asked them to help the club financially

Just remember the past is just that..live and play for now and you can only be judged on your last game.......and 3 goal.........u tell me what u call that??

Looks like i touched a nerve there! as i said if your that passionate about the club and you do all these things that you say you do which is great, why arent you down there more often why are you the front man if you love the club that much??? as for the lights and rooms i dont enjoy as i dont train or play there

as for the 3 goals?? yea probably not a good enough performance but i cant control that

you must be kidding g'man........ cant you tell by now who he is ? its everybodies mate mr vermin... the bearsboy himself.

Shown his profiles ? My guess is you were searching for a little bit of man love.

With your constant referals to the Sharp Man, it sounds like he may have given you a couple of hidings at some stage.

hey bearsboy how bloody good is daniel rich? great to see the bears get up and ruin the blues hopes. the bears were great in the last quarter. can they do the doggies next week?

seems like greenman is doing his fair share for gisborne whilst holding down a posistion at another club , pretty sure he is doing more than most down there.
what do you do to help out the club mr brit vermon ?
see that your twos players who have been playing for free all year are through to the grand final, and your ones once again put in another piss poor finals performance.
maybe the ones not getting paid for finals had a influence on the two finals that they played ?
average losing margin of over 80 points in two games mmmmm gisborne really going places arent they

Players are not professional footballers - to be a professional footballer would require footy to be your full time job. Players like supporters should be members of the club and therefore as entitled as anyone else to have a vote on the future of the club. Quite simple. As for the money paid to those footballers that very committee you refer to are the ones handing over the cash. If you haven't got it, you shouldn't promise it. If you only offer what you can afford the player chooses the club or the money and then you know the real quality of the footballer particularly if they are home grown.

Finally, someone posting common sense. This is the approach all clubs should take instead of handing $3-400 a game to blokes who sell their 2nd rate services to the highest & stupidest bidder. Would reduce player payments across the board if every club took this approach

flat were good today... geary an maddern and everyone else lifting at the right time. :)
Flat's performance has added a spark to an otherwise dull final series.

Now a question for its supporters (and Eaglehawk supporters).
In an article in the Bendigo Advertiser on August 28 (Flat's wait finally over) Luke West stated that Derrick Filo coached the Roos from 2000 to 2002 before crossing to Eaglehawk in 2003. I thought Flat's loss to Golden Square in the 2001 preliminary final (where Filo was pretty critical of his team after the game) was his last game for the club and he crossed to Eaglehawk in 2002 - not 2003 as stated by Luke.

Can anyone connected with either club confirm the year (2001 or 2002) when Filo did finish with the Roos?

I can tell you that Filo first coached Eaglehawk in 2003

Couldnt possibly be true bearsboy has painted the picture that all is fine down there. Perhaps they are just going to accept disgracefull finals performances ? Someone needs to be accountable for rubbish they served up in the last half of the year.

Surely L.West wouldn't get anything wrong being the football genius that he is?

Maybe he was still recovering from being an emergency for Castlemaine in the last round of the year........

Work with a bloke from Gisborne and it seems similar to what we (Broadford) went thru last year. He tells me a lot of players aren't keen on the move, but will cop the outcome and play for their club wherever they run out. Many of us were the same, didnt wanna go but supported the club and those that were for it. In our case, the committee of the time thought it was good to move, players were divided and a vote narrowly got thru (by 4 votes). A large proportion of our members (netballers) didn't front to vote which coulda made all the difference. Hopefully when the big discussion night is held, all parties are fully transparent for the voters (members) benefit, and the Bendigo FL is represented (if they're keen to keep Gisborne of course) because that was the vital ingredient missing at Broadford last year - the HDFL weren't allowed to address the troops

well after tonight lets hope that Doug and Anthoney Belcher, start putting words into actions and rebuild Gisborne.............because if they dont they will have the demise of the club squarely on there hands.....Anthoney....lets hope you become the Pres next year...because you have opened your mouth and probably altered the direction of the club. Its time you took over since you care so much and you believe the club is heading in the wrong direction and the committee dont know what there doing in your eyes. Good luck son and lets hope you do a better job than your father did. To all the other players and supporters....dont let a group of soon to be retired players alter the correct course for the clubs future and dont let these players egos rule the future direction of the club. Vote Ballarat and do the right thing for the club....and as Mr Belcher and son need to remember the club is bigger than the individual

The club has been a dominant force for many years in the Bendigo comp. Seems to be plenty talking doom and gloom after they have just finished in 3rd place. Yeah some bad finals losses but I'm sure they will bounce back whatever competition they are in next year.

What was the wash-up of last night's meeting at Gisborne, were both Ballarat & Bendigo FL's represented? Would the vote be cast in the next week or so?
