The aggresive way Harvey played the game, and with the coaching background he has you would think he would fit the bill for the hard nut coach that freo need if they are ever going anywhere. But his name doesn't seem to be in the popular mix for Freo. Is that because the powers that be already know Sheedy is pulling the pin and Harvey is heading back over East to take his place? Just seems strange to hear names like Sumich and Daniher bandied about when they have somebody of the calibre of Harvey already there.

Aggresive way Harvey played...? did he?

Certainly not how I remember him playing, I may be wrong. Memory might be going on me.

Regardless of the memory, he will never get a senior coaching job. Ever.

Your memory must be faded if you can't remember the way Harvey played. He was certainly very hard at it - i expect you actually already knew that:rolleyes:

Personally I don't think he's got what it takes to be a senior coach & is more suited to the assistant role.

harvey might have been a lot of things, but hard/aggressive onfield (and offield at times haha) was definitely one of them.

couldn't fault his courage

You are right. HeWAS hard at it. Hard at the footy.

Certainly not aggresive, as in dirty, tough, aggresive at the man. Was he?

Now I am being serious

Ever since he got punched out in Darwin he seems to be have been crossed off the list. Maybe there is more to that story as well? :(

I took the term aggresive to be a good thing - meaning hard at it - not an outside reciever type or a dirty sniper but a bloke who put his body on the line - thats certainly the way Harvey played.

Yep, agree OB, he did certainly play that way.

Sorry, a glass too many of Jasper Hill.
:)

agree

I think it has more to do with the media and some sections of fans wanting a Premiership experienced coach to take them all the way, rather than going with a coach who is in his first year etc. It takes a while for coaches to fit in and take them somewhere, hence why with the list already aging, they don't want to take a long period of time, they want it now.

Mark Harvey won't be looked at for the senior role at Freo (or any club for that matter) mainly because he comes across as a bit of a dullard.

His knowledge of the game is good, but he struggles to articulate that to the players...good assistant (allegedly), but that will be about it..same as Brian Royal...

He was not a thug no. He was hard at the ball and often went for the ball knowing he was going to be crunched but that the team would benefit. That's what aggression is, it is not thumping blokes

He will be looked at seriously for the Melbourne and Carlton roles. Won't get a look in at Essendon because the CEO Peter Jackson doesn't get on with him.

Done nothing at the Dockers, too dumb to be a senior coach. No chance.

Seriously, how would you know?

And didn't they make the top four in his first year?

Won't get a look in at Essendon because the CEO Peter Jackson doesn't get on with him.

If that was the case, no one would be Essendon's coach.

Of course, I wouldnt know, just as you wouldnt know he was smart. From listening to him and some comments he has made during the game at interviews etc, I've picked up a perception. He's as dumb as a box of hammers. You just have to listen to him speak.

I agree. He hasn't impressed me when he has been interviewed on WA tv. I think if we are to get rid of Cuddles, we need someone from outside the "inner circle" to come and restructure. Harvs is part of the problem, we need the solution, and someone fresh to look at it.
