IMO next year is our true opening of our premiership window

Jacobs, Danger, Walker, Talia, Sloane, Smith, Shaw & Wright will all be better again and their is no reason why D-Mac, Porpy, Vince & VB can't keep evolviong their games either

Then there is the introduction of Crouch who has had a ideal preperation for his entery into the AFL and I expect the likes of Jenkins, Lyons & Kerridge will be seriously pushing for selection after another pre-season

However with that said to improve we need to be clinical during the trade and draft period, another KP defender and back up ruck needs to be on the top of our shopping list and our side needs to continuously evolve with the likes of Lyons and Kerridge replacing players like Nutter & Dogga (retired)

Neither is available ....so what's purpose of discussion

Goddard has laready knocked Freo back because he doesn't want to go interstate
In that case, what's the purpose of any speculation threads, or future discussion? Not available, just like Phil Davis wasn't available?

If last night proves anything, it's that our soft draw made **** all difference.

Unless we draw Hawthorn, Sydney, Collingwood and West Coast twice next year (i.e. hardest possible draw based on this years results), we have no reason not to finish top 4 at least.

Barring the above, and horrendous injuries to our top 5 players, we should finish top 2.

EDIT: touch wood.

Even if we do get that draw, we would have some decent match hardness afterwards.

we will not be gifted another 2012 draw, however with this in mind we should not fear any team and regardless of what draw we are handed we should have top 4 expectations

Yes, I am sure Adelaide will, but I wouldn't put all your money on it, as it wouldn't pay much. As for the coaches and support staff, Adelaide seem to want Port's staff, so whoever we get, you'll want to poach from us anyway. The best move Adelaide ever made was to poach Stewart from us.
Why is this shit allowed on our board?

maybe you need to start paying your footy dept more than min wage

speculate about something that has some possibility, that's good discussion ,......but not about things with zero possibility, that's just a waste of time

Difficult year next

no expectations this year, new coach, no injuries to speak of .....just a dream run

Next year lots of expections:
1. Will be playing top 7 sides twice ....more difficult draw
2. Sandersons honeymoon over .....now we'll see exactly how good he is
3. likely to have a normal season with Injuries
4. Tippett?
5. Can players climb the mountain for Sando a 2nd time ?

So many questions ....I'm not sure anyone at ats can predict

1. we will be better next year. the problem isn't that we will be playing them twice, the problem is that they will have to play us twice.
2. honeymoons only last a couple of games not entire seasons, knowing the system already is a big positive.
3. we had injuries yesterday and did well
4. jenkins
5. You dont play for your coach, you play for yourself. The coaches job is to get you doing that. Any player that cant use this loss as inspiration to push themselves that little bit harder needs to be shown the door.

I'm sure AFC will be aiming for a top-4 position & a shot at making the GF.

If Tippett leaves, this will make it harder... but if we manage/have some luck with injuries like this year, there is no reason why this isn't a realistic possibility with/without Kurt - hopefully with though!

Think this is going to be the nost interesting trade period for sometime with free agency. Got a feeling AFC will be active - great opportunity to top-up on areas of our list where we lack depth ... but probably means we need to let a couple of decent players go too.

We will most likely only play 1 bottom 8 team twice, that being Port. You can bet that we'll get the Perth trip twice, likely in the last round as well. But I have faith in this group. After last night, we now have the belief that we can take it up to the best. My tip is 2-5 finish.

Pretty sure I heard we will be playing Hawthorn in the final round at home next year. Next year we will have a hard draw. The AFL will over compensate for our relatively easy draw this year. The one positive is hopefully that means we will get some of the best teams coming to Footy Park next year and we can prove we are the real deal :)

not saying that you are wrong but draw rumors dont usually start this early

I also dont believe that the AFL will over-compensate for our easy draw, our 2013 draw will be reflective of where we finished this year

Hard to gauge but you'd expect to be pushing top 4 again. Lets be honest we've had a pretty good run this year. Not many key injuries at all and our draw was more favourable than other teams. I'm just worried that an injury to a key player or 2 and we'll struggle a bit. Adding a bit more mature age depth, some quick nippy small forwards and defenders (small and tall) would be my priorities.

I believe it was from Rucci when he was mentioning what was planned for Footy Park in its last season. The reason was we played Hawthon in our first game and thus we will play them in the last regular season game at the stadium.

On the draw we finished 3rd overall this season (2nd regular season) so we will have a harder draw. I highly doubt we will play Gold Coast or West Sydney twice next year as we are already likely to play Port twice.

4-6. A ridiculously tough draw and injury issues will hold back a genuine assault on the flag.

I'd like to be optimistic but you can't account for how much other clubs will improve, whether players will improve or regress, injuries, the draw etc.

I worry that in the next few years yesterday's 'brave loss' will be reassessed as the biggest missed opportunity in the club's history.

outside the expansion teams I think we have the 2nd youngest list in the comp which suggest that we have plenty of improvement left in us

I expect another Sando spike in 2013
