The Darkness- Icelandic Crime Drama

Divided We Stand- German series set at the time of reunification in 1989

Elsbeth- Carrie Preston reprises her role from the Good Wife, loved her character enjoyed the first ep so I was interested to see whether she could carry a series with all her quirkiness akin to Monk
Trapped is another Icelandic crime drama you might be interested in.

How new? Wats it on? Who is in it?

The originals were epic
It's on Apple.
Looks like it only came out watch the first 2 EPs.

David Morrissey and a young feller.
Set in cambridge uni.

The Pit on Binge

Episode 1 is very good; I didnt fall asleep and had me rivetted.

I've seen 4 episodes, and its really quite good for a medical drama. It certainly doesn't pull any emotional punches - there are big, difficult topics hit early on.

Also, while its been a long time since I watched ER, its pretty obvious that the headline of the linked article is influenced by the fact that Michael Crichton's estate is suing the show over the similarity to ER. Apparently the showrunner and producers were in talks to reboot ER, and when negotiations broke down they made this instead

I've had Divided We Stand on my watch list for a while but it doesn't have a great rating and lots of poor reviews. Might just have to bite the bullet and see if it's worth it.

Or I must just be lazy and give The Good Wife a re-watch; I loved the first couple of seasons.

DWS is only 7 episodes, I really enjoyed the 1st ep the main detective Schubert is from the West having to deal with Simon from the East who is suspicious of everything

Dexter: Original Sin. I wasn't expecting much but am enjoying it. My main criticism is that some of the actors have been cast solely because they look like young versions of the characters from the original show. The guy playing Batista, for example, is pretty bad. Deb, OTOH, is great.

And the flashbacks to Harry and Dexter's mother are laughable. The way they blur the screen a little to make Christian Slater look 20 years younger...

I've used this thread for some time to calibrate my viewing habits, with mostly stellar results.

But, what am I missing with Land Man? Were my expectations too high?

It's literally Yellowstone with oil instead of horses. I love BBT but his character seems to be nothing but a caricature of himself, and the slow, ethereal sound track to drone footage of oil fields is really starting to grind.

I trusted you guys.
