I never realised just how awesome Chris Judd actually is. WC supporters have often told me how good he is, but sine they are never on TV i never got to see him, until he an Daniel Kerr carved us - Roos - up on the weekend. These 2 will be champions but Judd... Brilliant!! come to the Roos :D :D :D :D :D

If ever Pickett was homesick and wanted to go back to WA, i would seriously consider a swap in Judd for Pickett. Regardless i thought Pickett was also from SA, coz i remember him playing for SA in a state of origin last time.

Just a quick reply from a north supporter - the bloke at north who i reckon has more ability than any other kid there is daniel motlop - based on talent alone the kid is POTENTIALLY going to be a super super star.

having said that has done little to date.

judd and hodge are guns but reiwoldt is the one you'd want. players like him don't fall out of the sky - absolute joy to watch.

with the tv coverage as it is in melbourne i get to see very few wa games so i could never make a call on the eagles or the dockers.

myself i reckon i've seen the dockers play once this year and that was in a pub against north and since i was o/s last year i haven't been able to see what the fuss is about mcpharlin - which i'm all the poorer for.

but then when you take the thirty pieces of silver thats what happens.

A couple of very good predictions in this thread, although players like Judd were almost certain to become stars from the moment they started playing, but injury can take its toll.

Geelong have the best list of 1st, 2nd and 3rd year players in the league by far. Our recruitment policy has been amazing. Over the past three years we have finished towards the middle of the ladder so we haven't got as many good picks by default as the Saints and Freo.

Of the nine players who have made their debut this year, I rate them in this order.

1. James Kelly
2. Jarad Rooke
3. Steven Johnson
4. Jim Bartel
5. Gary Ablett II
6. Will Slade
7. Charlie Gardiner
8. David Johnson
9. Paul Chambers

Of these nine, I think the top five would be an automatic selection at any other club. The other four haven't had enough game time to really impress although Slade looks the goods.

Add to these new players some of the other young players who have established themselves:

Scarlett
King (still only 23, can ya believe it?)
Harley (has played 74 games without missing one)
Clarke
Chapman (like Jason Johnson 4 years ago, but a little bit tougher)
Rahilly
Wojcinski
J. Corey
Enright
Spriggs

Geelong will be recognized as a football power by halfway through next year, and will remain powerful for up to a decade. That's how long you can expect the core of players I've listed to dominate in the blue&white.
Superb work Generalissimo!

I was going to laugh at this guy but then realised it was me.

Having said that I could have named anyone from Essendon back then and still had the same result.

Took me a half a minute to realise it was an old thread - I thought the Shaun Burgoyne reference was a bad joke, then it kept going and it was starting to not make any sense

then I saw the date of the posts..

I thought the same, and from a Port supporter and all. Bet he wishes the future at Geelong wasn't quite *so* bright, in retrospect.

Though if you threw a net over the 2002 Geelong team you'd real in much more than a handful of future superstars.

A LOT of love for Riewoldt early in this thread, yet in the champions of the modern era thread almost no one rates him. Has he not lived up to the hype?

In his fit seasons he has managed to kick 60 if not more goals, take close to if not the most marks in the league and would probably manage more posessions than almost every other key forward in the league.

I beleive he is a champion.
