Fans do get called out for comments these days from other fans, as she says, so things are improving. Before the game, a friend texted me a screenshot from Channel Seven's coverage, showing the commentators' predictions for the final score, with the caption "Who do the white men think will win?" Sure enough, all five predictions were from white men.

Phwoar.

As for the white men stuff, well I would say anyone that complains of this has no respect for who those men are and their contribution to the game. To dismiss them as just "white men" certainly shouldn't come from a self proclaimed footy fan as Miss Riley claims herself to be.

The footy media is full of idiots, but racial diversity for the sake of racial diversity is just stupid.

I also resent the notion that Wayne Carey shouldn't be allowed on TV because of sins in his past. Are people not allowed to be rehabilitated?

However hard you might find it to believe, it happened. And I guarantee you, anyone who's been to a Swans game this year has a similar story.

Noone's trying to tar the whole of Hawthorn with the same brush. The real Hawks fans were out the front enjoying their team romp home to another premiership. Meanwhile the group of thirty or so people described in the article kept yelling their racist chants even after the siren, even drowning out Hodgey's speech. They weren't the real Hawks fans. And noone's trying to pin this on the whole comp either. But it becomes a problem for the AFL as an organisation when there are large groups of people are doing this at the biggest game of the year and nothing is done.
