Who do you want your club to target?

Draft:

Sheed, Garlett, Bontempelli, Cripps, - Sheed and Bontempelli for first round and Garlett/Cripps 2nd round.

FA:

Dale Thomas - Doubt he would come here but he would add some flair to our midfield.

Trade:

Yarran - Exactly what we need and could fill our need for speed on the wing, forward or defense.
Garlett - Would be good for us on the wing and up forward.
Pears and Delaney if we lose Brown.

Unlikely, the Eagles only seem interested in WA boys nowadays.

I can understand that philosophy, but I suspect that a lot of the WA boys that the Eagles might LIKE to draft will be gone by the time they get a pick therefore I think that Bontempelli is the player who may be available who best fits what the Eagles need.

What sort of coin would Adam Cooney be offered this coming year?

I think he would be offered 350K to 400K for two years. Free agents still get good money to get them to leave a club. Cooney would be a good fit for a number of teams with salary space.

I wouldn't be against Richmond targeting the following players...

Matty Wright - Can play a tagging role but also showed against Gold Coast that he has is very good at being a crumbing-type

Tyson Goldsack - A swingman like Goldsack could be priceless. Not sure where he is rated at Collingwood. He has pace meaning he could go on wing occasionally, he could be our 3rd tall or float to defence and take intercept marks.

Jed Lamb - unlikely but is a very quick crumbing type. Need someone like this.

Nicholls/Gorringe - Smith and Dixon would likely move ahead of them and Suns would want to keep one as insurance but if we targeted a Nicholls, Ivan can rest forward more and not play as many games in the season.

And on a side note, was listening to SEN (I think), and heard that GWS may be interested in Vickery. Not sure where that came from but I wouldn't be against trading Vickery to any club, for the right price...

What would you give up for Todd Banfield?

Carlton certainly wouldn't offer anything in an exchange for Banfield, and it is unlikely that any club would offer anything of note. You may see some interest from the Perth clubs to bring him home but even then it wouldn't be in exchange for anything greater than a token late selection.

Banfield has talent but has never shown he has the ability to move further up the ground. Looks all at sea outside of the forward pocket and when you couple that with not having had any sort of impact in quite some time, it doesn't paint a pretty pictute.

Search high and low for key defenders. Need minimum two this offseason. Would prefer we stayed away from contracted players though, don't want to give up the house for one.

If Adams and Parker would like to come home we'd be happy to oblige them. Should have some big contracts coming off the books at the end of the year.

Some speculation as to how many list changes we will make this year, Hille (retired) NLM (retired) Luke Davis (delisted) are the three certainties with the possibilities any of Alex Browne, Trav Colyer, Alwyn Davey, Kyle Hardingham, Nick O'Brien (is getting his chance this week after some very good form in the VFL this season) and Jason Winderlich (to possibly retire) could be shown the door.

Tom Bellchamber, Stewart Crameri, Scott Gumbleton, Cale Hooker, Tayte Pears are also out of contract key position players who could look elsewhere for more playing time.

Trade:
I'd be trying to get as much value of our tradable commodities as possible. Pears and Crameri seem the most dispensable whilst the ever improving TBC is NOT on the table.
I would look to possible attain a 3rd string ruckmen, someone old enough to understand he is not a best 22 player but young enough to have plenty of development left in him. If that is not possibly then I can see us trying to poach a Currie, Jesse White, or possibly a Callum Sinclair to fill a void should injury hit. Ultimately Essendon will recruit a ruckmen, where is the question (trade, draft, FA).

Free Agency:
Inserting for completeness. Doubt we would go after anyone in Free Agency after offering Goddard upwards of $700,000 for 4 years. If anyone, Nick Dal Santo interests me the most IMO. Good ball user, two way runner, complete player and gettable. I reiterate again that I doubt we will be active in FA.

Draft needs:
- Small forward
- Young developing ruckmen
- Ready to go outside ball winner
- Midfielders

I like the sound of this Jay Kennedy - Harris kid as that small forward.
Not to sure of any ruckmen but the kid Nankervis could be nice, even if he were a forward more than a ruck men.
I do like the sound of the Bontempelli kid, Zach Merret could be another handy option. George Hampson as a more mature player would be nice.
Any other midfielders we can get our hands on would be good. Maybe a utility type that could replace NLM in the long run and push David Myers as that jack in the box type.

Was about to post and saw you write this, exactly what we need! Mabel you should offer your services as a recruiter to the eagles, bet ya they won't pick one of these guys, even though they should get them all.

Heard a whisper last night that Pies are right into Mumford for next season. Is he out of contract after this season?

All dependent on whether Mumford leaves or not. If he does, then I would be putting out lines to the likes of Craig Moller and Jarrad Witts about whether they want to come home or not. I understand thats a long shot so I'd be content with a Simpson or Gorringe.

How about testing Brisbane out offer Longer the lead Ruck role and give them our first pick + a player

Probably won't happen. High pick + Young Ruck makes for high currency and you'd be getting low bang for your buck, especially if he gets homesick. Also, Pyke is good as-is in the starting ruck role.

Out of curiosity which player would you have given up?
