Are you trying to compare Scully to Pendlebury?

Considering you're a Saints fan I find that amusing, but if you want to ware your Demons hat, GWS done them a favour in taking Scully IMO, talk about dodging a bullet.

You do realise if you had pick one that year Hine would have taken Scully? You can only take what is available to you that year. Pendlebry wasnt available when Scully was taken so your point is ridiculous. The same as when Collingwood took Fraser he was clearly everyones choice at one yes it didnt work out that way long termbut draft day he was the automatic choice.

No Scharenberg for the reason above
No Aish for poor attitude and risky injuries.

Billings or Kelly please and the great thing is one of them will be available at 3!

Hine was widely criticized for taking Pendles at 5, Hine actually rated Pendles and Thomas equally but he knew Thomas was no chance to be available at 5, Most experts had Pendles around a late first round pick.

And how do you who Hine would have taken in Scullys draft? Hine also rated Beams the equal of Sidebottom, but he knew Sidebottom wasnt going to be available at pick 29 where Beams might, and he was right.

Must you continually turn every single thread on this board into a shit fight? 95% of your entire posting history you are trolling Collingwood.

Mods, when are you going to wake up to this guy? Please spend 5 minutes looking over his posting history, you'll see his sole purpose is trolling Collingwood, it makes it extremely hard to have a constructive-reasonable discussion when he trolls EVERY SINGLE POST made by a Collingwood poster.

You're ignored anyway, I've had a gutful.

Scully could still be a quality player, so could Toumpas though so we'll wait and see.

The loss to Melboure can't really be compared with Geelongs loss though, I don't think the Demons lost much short term, and they may even come out in front mid-long term.

Mate common comparing scully to Pendles in a bit rich.

It was the point that having a 20 year old top five draft pick taken from you effects your taems performance and looks there for your drafting looks worse. Same when blokes get injured yet they still cop critisism how can you draft a bloke tehn cop it when he gets injured?

I don't want to get a massive riser, or someone that was thought of as around the 10 range when we have pick 4. So no Lennon, Freeman, Salem, Crouch etc.

scharenberg seems to be the early favourite for this years slider, is it just because he is a jack of all trades and master of none?

how far do people feel he could slide?

I think you've hit the nail on the head there. Lack of effectiveness in the midfield to. I feel he will go no later than Collingwood at 10, in saying that I would take him at 11 in a heartbeat.

Who i don't want - Josh Kelly, will more than likely be snapped up by 11 anyway but we already have Gaff
Lewis Taylor, concerned with his tackling pressure. Doesn't make them stick enough
Matt Crouch, we already have Priddis thanks

Wont be a popular opinion, but I dont want McCarthy at Carlton with our first pick.

Second best KPF in the draft by all acounts, but still a 3-4 year project player (we just delisted 2 of these that we couldnt develop properly). We need a more ready made KPF with our aging list, and need midfield talent coming through in the next 2 years to replace Judd, Carrazzo, Simpson, Scotland, Walker.

McCarthy, Crouch and Freeman. unlikely some get to us but still wouldnt pick them up at 21.

Freeman is related to Dangerfield, Dangerfield started off in the back half and drafted because his endurance could improve. Freeman has that endurance and doesn't do enough for me. with his endurance and power he should be the dominant player at u18's not struggling to get 25 touches.

Crouch, don't like his kicking and unable to have much impact outside, apart from forward. we just got rid of a very similar player in Thomas.

and i don;t rate McCarthy as high as others, good champs yes but not sure he will transition into a AFL style forwardline apart from maybe a big fly or nice pickup.

Lennon. I just think there's better value at the selection we'd potentially use on him.

One things for sure though the players we choose at 6 & 10 will be the two that Adam H and The Finger didn't want :thumbsu:

On the flipside Hine will say he thought they where top two and the Collingwood masses will believe it.:D

Brown is nothing exciting and neither is sidebottom imo

Browns a better player than he showed this year, he hasn't been right since he did his knee, hopefully he can get back to his best next year.

Sidebottom was a good get at 11 in his draft, most have him clearly in the top 10 with hindsight.

both good solid players, but not stars IMO.

I can't see him getting past Brisbane at Pick 7. I know they rate him highly & he would be a good fit for them. You can only hope that if he does end up there, he hangs around longer than some of their other interstate draft picks!

I think the highest he will go is 5 to Gold Coast, although the favourite there appears to be Kolodjashnij. GWS, St Kilda, Bulldogs & Collingwood want midfielders & are unlikely to take him imo.
