Cutler, Gardiner and Taylor. I could live with Taylor more than the first two but still have queries on him.

His record of drafting guns And never wasting a first round pick.
Hines first rounders.
Thomas pick 2
Pendlebury 5
Reid 8
Brown 10
Sidebottom 11
Grundy 18
I dont think Vickery has shown to be worth pick 8 yet, but I agree with the rest of those. I think its also a case that you were drafting for a need (post richo), and he was arguably the best tall forward available at that pick.If you are just going to look at 1st rd picks I'd put francis jackson up against hine any day. Every pick under 20 we've had since FJ came on board has been spot on. Yet he never receives the plaudits Hine does...
2012 - pick 9 Vlastuin
2011 - pick 15 Ellis
2010 - pick 6 Conca
2009 - pick 3 martin
2008 - pick 8 vickery
2007 - pick 2 cotchin, pick 18 rance
2006 - pick 13 riewoldt
You'd really put that record up against Hines? 3 of Hines 6 first rounders are AAs mate, not including Beams. If you are just going to look at 1st rd picks I'd put francis jackson up against hine any day. My word I'd put that list up against Hines. Reiwoldt is a 2 time Coleman medalist, cotchin an aa and brownlow runner up and I would be confident the ones following could be aa as well. Remember hine had a head start on fj with Thomas and Pendlebury drafted in 05. Only one on tigers 1st rd lists who hasn't come on as well yet is vickery however he's a big bloke and I'm confident next year could be a breakout year for him. You'd really put that record up against Hines? 3 of Hines 6 first rounders are AAs mate, not including Beams.
Cotchin and Riewoldt are both AA's.....so hine has 1 extra. You'd really put that record up against Hines? 3 of Hines 6 first rounders are AAs mate, not including Beams.
It looks like what Richmond did with their later picks last year was very good, given how McBean, McIntosh and McDonough reportedly performed in the VFL. Their drafting and recruiting has been top-notch and consistent in recent years.Richmond have done very well with first-rounders of late. That's where you get your stars, but it's the later picks where recruiters really earn their money. Richmond are still coming because their record in this part of the draft is woeful.
Not your first pick but pretty closeFreeman.. too much sizzle and not enough steak
Hoping we don't go for Sheed or Salem.
Not your first pick but pretty close
Bontempelli. Would get over it i suppose but really doesn't have enough runs on the board for me and is quite ungainly. Big gangly looking bugger who i think will be exposed for pace at AFL level.
I rate Sam Gilbert as a player but i wouldn't use pick 4 on a Gilbert type. Understand Marcus has better scope to play midfield but even still i think he needs to clean things up by hand.
Essentially at pick 4 we could just get someone who's less of a project, with similar pedigree and more of a natural footy player. Anyone around that range is classier than Bonts imo
Goes to show that anything can happen and we are all plebs who know nothing of the insider knowledge that these clubs get access to.Ouch!
Phew - we took Cripps instead of McCarthy.Wont be a popular opinion, but I dont want McCarthy at Carlton with our first pick.
Second best KPF in the draft by all acounts, but still a 3-4 year project player (we just delisted 2 of these that we couldnt develop properly). We need a more ready made KPF with our aging list, and need midfield talent coming through in the next 2 years to replace Judd, Carrazzo, Simpson, Scotland, Walker.
The way your club's traveling, you're likely to use your 1st on him...Caleb Poulter.
Is that really the best you’ve got?The way your club's traveling, you're likely to use your 1st on him...
Haha it’s a shocker!Ouch!
Haha don’t worry you’re not the only one, I said vickery was on the verge of a breakout year lolHaha it’s a shocker!
When I heard we were gonna get him I did a highlights video of him. Watched all his involvements and changed my mind (and made some other uneasy posters more comfortable with drafting him). Didn’t start well though for me
