Went down the rabbit hole and ended up watching the extended highlights of our '06 elim final. Features a lot of the guys discussed in this thread - Neitz, Green, Yze, Davey, Rivers, White, Junior, Robbo, Bruce, Jamar, Whelan, and a very young Jones.

Also the game that G Train tried to take on Carroll and got nailed. Great times.

Bloody loved that Melbourne team.

Found the game I mentioned earlier, was late 2003.

Go to the end for that Green goal

I just remembered one more thing, pretty sure Daniher moved Bruce and Yze into the middle which helped turn the game.

I kind of wanted to vote for May coz he disrupted Pies fans premiership celebrations by saying we are better than them and got them all very worked up.
Me too, so I did.

Jones win us games often? Steve won us a few. I suppose Jones mostly played in s**t teams.

Still, May's been epic, 2xAA but prolly should be 3.
A rough matchup in that sense for Jones. He's heart and soul, carried us through some of our darkest years, but never got to show if he can be a matchwinner like May has.

In the spirit of the poll I'm voting Steven May. He is a better player than Jones. But Jones is so much Melbourne, love him and mean no disrespect.

We don't win a flag without either of these but we night not have a club without Jones

James Frawley making it further than Steven May :embarrassedv1:

Now there's a Melbourne team I could #pumpupthevolume for

First line of that commentary.
"Byron pickett is about 10 metres from the centre square, whoever is on Byron pickett needs to block his run so he doesn't charge in a clean up somebody.

That's gold
