Also that the coach will be announced by the end of next week, per Lloyd’s info — but at the same Caro insisting Scott will be approached next week.

Is Scott not one for doing Clarkson level due diligence? Can he wrap his head around it in the space of 3 days?
How could he be prepared within a couple of days to do due diligence and present to the panel. Doesn’t stack up imo

I'm all for getting a senior, wiser figure in to guide a younger head coach, but as it's the third time I wonder if the club could consider actually listening to the older coach this time, for novelty's sake at least.

So Brad Scott is basically the ace up their sleeve if they don’t like their options?
That's what it sounds like (according to Caro). Caro has been championing his cause so I expect a bit if mayo to be involved.

I think the truth is that they will finalise their top candidate/couple of candidates out of the Yze/Hird/Gia/Solly/Lade group and then interview Scott next week if he is interested. The choice will then come down to those two or three candidates.

The club is listening to an older coach. :p He just sits on the board now.

Can understand Scott's caution and could also easuly see him pulling out of contention unless Essendon lays the job at his feet soon. He is on a very good career trajectory and Gill seemed to remind him of that recently.

your club could have just dodged a very large bullet with a new story out about Clarko and his trusty sidekick Fagan from the Hawthorn era.
If true, the ramifications will be massive, and they both should be done and dusted.

this?

"Clarkson just leaned over me and demanded that I needed to get rid of my unborn child and my partner. I was then manipulated and convinced to remove my SIM card from my phone, so there was no further contact between my family and me. They told me I’d be living with one of the other coaches from that night onwards.

He felt he had no choice. "He told me to kill my unborn kid."

Yze was at hawthorn also.

So was Jordan Lewis.

I can confirm I went through the process and can say I got some very good feedback. It was "Who are you and how did you get in here?"
We should get tshirts printed

I went through the essendon coaching process and all i got was this lousy tshirt

Caro doesn’t seem to know about Gia, and most of everything else she said was guessing. Yze as the favourite seemed to be a generic statement rather than coming from an insight she gleaned from the club (and given the NDAs in place, how would she know anything from anyone who would actually know?)

Bringing Choco Williams with him if Yze got it is an “I guess”.

She’s still really strong on Scott but doesn’t know what he wants… it’s like she has a line from someone at Essendon, perhaps a board member, who is in favour of Scott and Scott isn’t ruling it out, but the club hasn’t actually approached him yet? But she thinks we will approach him.

The idea we’d go through a whole process and then go “actually, we don’t like any of these candidates, so now we’re going to offer the job to Brad Scott” is kind of odd.

Even asking him to have a chat about the job, if it’s based on the idea that you don’t like the other candidates, then it’s still effectively parachuting him into the job. The process becomes redundant. Something there just doesn’t add up. Either there is a piece missing or it’s all wishful thinking from her.

Interesting points out of that segment actually came from Lloyd, but don’t belong in this thread.

Also said Yze is the favourite out of the Yze/Hird/Lade/Solomon quartet and if none of them 'cut the mustard' (her quote) then they will approach Scott as part of the process next week.
implement a process, finally.

Process doesn't work.

Throw out process.

Yze probably a bad idea now
As. Junior assistant there is every chance he did no know.
Also depends when it was . Yze would have only been there one or maybe two seasons when Fagan was there.

Devon was primary school, with tomato sauce.

In Queensland you can purchase deep fried kabana with salt at corner shops. Beautiful. I've never seen one in NSW, which is weird.
I know this is going to sound really weird, but I couldn't ever eat Stras/Devon with tomato sauce because it always made me viscerally feel like I was eating cicadas.

I have no idea where that association came from but it abides to this day.

Move along, nothing to see here
