spot on with respect to the oldies. they were my two fav's as well. when hudson was playing for us, i liked him as well. Throughout the 90's it was always crawf that i loved to watch....
in more recent times, Luke Hodge was for a long time the only reason that i kept going to watch them play. he was what kept the dream alive.
chance bateman's improvement over the last three seasons was what made me start to believe...

Although Crawf became my favourite quite quickly after he debuted. But I remember having #19 on my first jumper, then I changed it to #5 for Daniel Harford... maybe I jus couldn't choose a favourite!

Ahhh, the '63 Grand Final. Do you remember the incident when John Devine lined up Kevin Coverdale with the elbow just as John Yeates was about to tackle Coverdale. At the last moment Coverdale went to ground, Devine kept coming and hit Yeates in the gob with his elbow. Teeth went everywhere. Yeats then chased Devine around the wing trying to punch the crap out of Devine. Most amusing incident I have seen on a footy field.

My favourite player when I first followed the Hawks was No24 in 1954.
