Did I say that?
I don't think you did. "Regularly contends" doesn't necessarily equate to being a contender in 2025. We may be, but it's much too early in the season to say so definitively.

How the **** is the cap tight?

Horrible list management if that is the case.

tied up in our good players, i assume - all of the below would be on big money. and you can say they're overpaid now, but at the time of signing their contract, they would've received huge offers from the market.

cripps, walsh, weitering, mckay, curnow, cerra - and now TDK is set to be a $1m player - which I don't think the club expected. i'd say a lot of those contracts were backended. i like to think the williams contract has ****ed us a bit too.

It should be, Doc, Saad, Hollands is a poor group of rebounding half back flankers.

saad, newman (past 2x runner up bnf), doc, e hollands, o hollands, boyd, z williams if necessary. not a great group but not horrible. certainly not our weakest area in the ground, but of course we needed him.

A dual all Australian in their prime supposedly wants to come to your club, but you decide you don't need him...

voss knew we needed him, he was desperate for him, list management couldn't get it done, for reasons (assumptions) I explained.

Players gave good effort last night, but you need someone who can break and line and has good disposal...

saad is extremely capable of this (as we saw in bursts last night). due to poor system, lack of cohesion or just a stick up the players arses, we can't release him enough. newman too. if houston was playing last night he'd be under extreme pressure and unable to find a gap like everyone else imo, becuase he's surrounded by peanuts.

Yes.

I suspect it was a poor attempt in vain at a Gotcha.

Nice effort though, a bit like his footy team last night. Very brave, despite being completely outclassed - much like their interactions with me.

Saad was very good 3 years ago.

But so was Mitch Duncan. He's deadly by foot in all the wrong ways now.

Similar story for Docherty. It's an area they need refreshed, badly.

Newman going down has made it a massive problem.

Yep.

You guys have the joy of watching Daicos for another dozen years dominate the competition in a team that regularly contends for the premiership, whilst I have the joy of watching Carlton bumble along, making mistake after mistake and flipping between the bottom four and finals contention, without ever genuinely contending for a premiership.

Glorious.
FMD same shit over and over, go outside and smell the roses mate, at least think of something new .

Bag the Blues all you like, bag the players all you like but never ever doubt the courage of Sam Docherty. He has shown more courage than any player on any current team list.

Should just do the courageous thing and hang up the boots.

He's been a warrior but he's past it now.
