Both NSW sides should finish in the top 8 again this year.
Sure they had bad finals losses last year, but their lists are strong and I rate Cox and Kingsley highly as coaches.

Which side do you think will be better this year?

Last year I tipped the Giants to win the flag but really unlucky to go out in straight sets.
Shouldn't have lost that first final to Sydney and that's probably on Kingsley ..
Giants have an even squad with a nice spread across the park. They could probably do with one more A grade midfielder.

Swans really never should have made the GF after a pretty weak form line in the second half of the year.
Port were pretty pathetic in the Prelim and this concealed the Swans true form.

Swans still have a very weak backline and three tall fwds who all aren't very good
They also have a bunch of downhill skiers running around looking for easy ball

Overall I have the Giants around 4th again and the Swans around 8th

You don’t know how clubs will go with a new coach, particularly a brand new voice after 13 years.

GWS would be the safe bet in regard to this question.

Depends if Sydney are mentally damaged or not. If they bounce back I expect them to finish higher, my concern with the giants is they lack mature depth and they're a midfielder or two short to win the flag. Unless they have a reserves player step up. The recruiting needed to be more proactive in trying to win one now, other than stringer, they haven't added mature talent the past 2 years, which you need to go that one extra step.

Stringer may allow Greene and Daniels to go through the midfield more as that mature guy. I agree with your point overall. Not sure who was available mind you. Always the issue at the Giants is our talent is 99% through the draft.
Rowston and Leake likely to be the ones who need to show a bit and make the team this year.
Swans are always very handy....I don't see them dropping off as heavily. As much as I'd like them to after beating us 3 times in a year

Can't see how the continual grand final smackings and a new coach will benefit the swans
They bounced back alright after we humiliated them in 2022.
People tend to expect runners up sides to implode, but they tend to remain thereabouts in and around the top 8.
Port 2007, St Kilda 2010, Adelaide 2017 are the only runners up sides in recent memory to have imploded in the following years.

people always tip the Giants.. they're list is bloody strong
But the Swans are bloody reliable. If injuries dont play a part, Ill back the Swans to be top 4, just ahead of the Giants

Stringer could turn out to be the missing piece.
If there's a coach who can get the best out of him, it's Kingsley.
